Miss Universe Canada 2012 Candidates

Finals of Miss Universe Canada 2012 pageant, celebrating it's 61st year was scheduled to take place on May 19 at the St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts (Bluma Appel Theatre) in Toronto.

The competition process consists of two separate audience attended events:

Pageant Presentation Show (Thursday, May 17th, 2012): All delegates from across country compete before a live audience and a judging panel in the traditional categories (Swimwear and Evening Gown) for the chance to be selected as one of the Judges’ 15 semi-finalists. In addition, 5 segment winners will be joining the group of semi-finalists for a chance to win the title.

The top 20 semi-finalists from Thursday’s Pageant Presentation Show will compete for the title in front of a judging panel as well as our live audience in the traditional categories (Swimwear and Evening Gown), plus the addition of a live interview/question and answer segment. However, all delegates will be involved in production numbers throughout the show.

Reigning queen, Chelsae Durocher (photo above) will crown her successor at the final event. The new winner will represent the country in Miss Universe 2012 on December.

6 Beauties competing in Miss Bermuda 2012

The Miss Bermuda Organization has officially released the names and images of the 2012 contestants, with 6 gorgeous ladies scheduled to compete for the title. The grand finale is scheduled to take place on July 8 at the Fairmont Southampton where reigning queen Jana Outerbridge will crown her successor. Tickets range from $65 to $105 and are on sale.

The photos are taken by Anthony Francis of Tekoa Photography, the official pageant photographer. O’Faces is serving as the official makeup artists, while Impressions Hair Artistry is the hair stylists.

Miss Scotland 2012 Official Candidates

Grand finals of Miss Scotland 2012 competition will be held on May 23. The reigning queen, Jennifer Reoch will take her final walk and crown her successor during the event.

New winner will represent the country in Miss World 2012 contest in Ordos, Mongolia on August 18.

Hong Yi Jing will represent China in MTQI 2012

19 year old Hong Yi Jing from Shapingba, Chongqing, was crowned Miss Tourism Queen International China 2012 during a glittering event held in Wuhan, Hubei last May 13.

Hong Yi stands 179cm tall. and as the new beauty queen, She will have the opportunity to represent China in 2012 Miss Tourism Queen International Finals to be held on September 28 in China, where she will serve as the host candidate.

Tiffany Brien wins Miss Northern Ireland 2012

21 year old Tiffany Brien was elected as the new Miss Northern Ireland 2012 held at the Europa Hotel in Belfast on May 14.

Finished as 1st run-up was Meagan Green, while Sarah Ennis ended up as the 2nd run-up.

Tiffany was based in Hollywood, California. She will now represent Northern Ireland in the 62nd Miss World pageant in China on August 18.

Tara Teng won Miss World Canada 2012 title

23 year old Tara Teng was crowned as the new Miss World Canada 2012 held at the River Rock Casino Resort in Richmond on May 13. She was crowned by last year's Miss World Canada 2011 winner, Riza Santos.

Lisa Deane was the 1st run-up and Tanya Halata finished as the 2nd run-up.

Tara was from Vancouver. She will be the representative of Canada in Miss World 2012 on August 18 in Ordos, Inner Mongolia, China.

Teng's international project for the upcoming pageant was to advocate for the victims of human trafficking and modern slavery, from developing nations to Canada. Her work as an activist has earned her various awards and recognitions from non-profit organizations.

Chantal Zaky wins Miss Jamaica Universe 2012

A 24 year old stunner, Chantal Zaky took home the title of Miss Jamaica Universe 2012 during a tough competition held last May 12 at the National Indoor Sports Center in Kingston.

An popular actress and television personality in her country, Chantal stands 1.76m tall and she will be the official representative of Jamaica in Miss Universe 2012 on December.

Raquel Jones and Sherce Cowan was the 1st and 2nd runners-up respectively. While Amanda Mitchell and Danisha Scott completed the Top 5 finalists.

Gracing the event was the presence of the reigning Miss Universe 2011 from Angola, Leila Lopes.

Sandra Larsson crowned Miss Supranational Sweden 2012

20 year old Sandra Larsson was crowned Miss Supranational Sweden 2012 during the Miss Queen of Scandinavia Sweden 2012 contest. She will be the official representative of her country in Miss Supranational 2012 on September in Poland.

Sandra currently a student and works as a model.

Miss Supranational Iceland 2012 is Sigrun Armmansdottir

A pageant veteran, Sigrun Armmansdottir competed against 7 other beauties and won the title of Miss Supranational Iceland 2012.

The 1.83m tall beauty queen once represented her country in Miss World 2011. She will now enter the Miss Supranational 2012 competition in Poland later this September.

Kristina Zukauskaite of Lithuania wins Miss Oriental Tourism 2012

The very 1st edition of Miss Oriental Tourism pageant took place last May 11, 2012 in Guangyuan in China where 52 international beauties competed for the crown.

The stunning Miss Lithuania, Kristina Zukauskaite won the title. Her 1st run-up was Miss Siberia, Olga Portnova. And the 2nd run-up was Miss Taiwan, Chen Huei-chun.

Completing the top 10 finalists were Miss Brazil, Andressa Mello; Miss Costa Rica, Silvana Sanchez Jimenez; Miss Indonesia, Sonia Fergina Citra; Miss Montenegro, Maja Maras; Miss Poland, Anna Aleksandra Jamroz; and Miss South Africa, Ane Reynolds.

Notes: Erika is a former Miss South Carolina 2005 and Top 10 semi-finalist at Miss America 2006.

Bio: Powell is a Vocal Performance graduate of Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. Erika has been recognized as the keynote speaker and guest soloist for numerous civic, church and school related functions.

In 2007, she performed in Lyrique en Mer/Festival de Belle Ile, the largest Opera Festival in Western France. Erika won The Metropolitan Opera National Council auditions for the District of South Carolina and was a five-time winner of both state regional competitions of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) Competition for South Carolina and Southeast. She made her solo debut at The Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Hall in New York City in 2010. Also, she was most recently seen in The New York Philharmonic’s 2011 production of Janacek’s “The Cunning Little Vixen.”

Erika was thrilled to have the opportunity to partner with platinum-selling singer/songwriter, Edwin McCain and music producer/engineer, Noel Golden of Golden Music and Entertainment 29 on her first Classical Crossover CD project, now available on iTunes and Amazon.

Erika was selected as a Top-25 Global Semi-Finalist in the Avon Voices Talent Search, beating out over 6,000 submissions. Erika was privileged to coach and perform alongside many of Avon Voices celebrity judges, including Fergie, Natasha Bedingfield, David Pack, and others.

Bio: Holly Allen attended California State University Chico on a four-year scholarship. There, she graduated with honors and earned a degree in business and marketing. Born and raised in Lander, Holly refers to herself as a ‘true Wyoming country girl’. Her family owns and operates a guest ranch in the remote Wind River Mountains. Every summer, Holly has guided guests through the mountains, teaching them how to ride horses and fish. She was also the ranch chef, where she says she perfected her creative culinary skills.

Holly was on the executive board of her sorority and was involved in several activities and fundraisers, most prominently for the American Heart Association. During college, she spent a semester abroad studying in Australia, in which she extended her trip for a month-long solo-backpacking excursion around the country.

After graduation, Holly’s desire for a challenge led her to dive into the world of IT. She currently works with Fortune 500 companies nationwide, staffing their tech departments. She says she thrives on the interaction with people of various backgrounds, cultures, and expertise.

Bio: Emily Guerin attended high school in Monroe, Wisconsin and then moved to Colorado for a few years. There she started attending Online Trading Academy, a school specializing in stock trading. She started a business at the age of 20, and has traveled all across the US with that business.

Emily says she took an unorthodox road to becoming Miss Wisconsin USA 2012, as she was crowned only six weeks after she decided to run. Although new to the pageant world, she credits her success to others.

"Besides my beautiful mother, who made sure I could walk in heels by the age of 9, I give a huge amount of credit for my success to the training program of WorldVentures, a company I work with,” Emily says. She claims WorldVenture’s commitment to personal and business development has made her a better friend, communicator, businesswoman, and human being.

Emily is very family-oriented and considers them to be her best friends as well as her emotional rock. Some of Emily’s interests include traveling, personal development, sports, theatre, reading, languages, business, singing, and yoga. She also wants to get involved in the film industry, as performing has always been the driving passion of her life.

Bio: Andrea Rogers is currently working toward her master’s degree in marketing communications at West Virginia University. She says that earning a marketing degree provides her with the necessary marketing skills to help promote The Miss Universe Organization through raising awareness of the ideals and values on which the organization stands. While attending school, she is also working as a special education teacher at Berkeley County Schools. Andrea says her strongest talent is the ability to effectively communicate with diverse populations, including children with special needs. Another experience that helped foster her ability to effectively communicate with diverse populations is when she spent an in entire summer studying in Italy.

Andrea is an active member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. Her favorite hobbies include studying, teaching dance, snow skiing, traveling and cooking. She describes herself as multifaceted, passionate and optimistic.

Bio: Christina Clarke is currently attending Bellevue College, where she is pursuing a master's degree in psychology, as she plans on becoming a counselor for children and teens after she graduates. Christina was involved in 4-H program as a teen and she feels that our youth deserve a positive public role model. Having traveled overseas to perform for our troops and their families on a USO tour, she says she is devoted to making a difference in the lives of children and teens throughout the world.

Christina enjoys dedicating much of her time to serving her state, working with organizations including Project Homeless Connect, United Way, and Hope for Horses. She was also a member of the Sea Gals, which allowed her to work with organizations including Seattle's Battered Women's Shelter and the Special Olympics.

Raised in a supportive family of Christian faith, Christina says she has developed and maintained a great sense of honest morals and values. Christina shares that a quote given to her at a young age, "What you receive is directly connected to how you believe", served as her greatest life lesson and her goal is to share that simple yet significant message across the nation.

Christina is also a singer, guitarist, professional cheerleader, softball state champion, academic achiever, and has been a competitive horseback rider for 14 years.

Notes: Catherine was a former Miss New York Teen USA 2004 and Top 10 semi-finalist at Miss Teen USA 2004.

Bio: Muldoon currently holds two degrees of higher education. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from New York University in 2007 and in 2011 she was awarded a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the Ivy League University of Pennsylvania. Presently, Catherine works as a Cosmetic Dentist at Konikoff Dentistry in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Catherine has worked diligently with Operation Smile, an international organization that provides surgeries to repair cleft lip, cleft palate, and other facial deformities for children around the world. She has also volunteered for humanitarian dental missions, which took her to both Nicaragua and Costa Rica. There, she was able to deliver dental treatment to those in need as well as practice her Spanish.

When Catherine is not treating patients, she enjoys playing water sports, socializing with both new and old friends, and spending time with her Maltese dog, Winnie.

Bio: Jamie Lynn Dragon is the owner and stylist of Lush Boutique in Stowe. She believes her strongest talent is her work as a hair stylist. She takes her work beyond just giving a hairstyle; Jamie says her salon focuses on empowering women and enabling them to feel confident in their own skin. She stays actively involved in her community by donating her stylist skills to the Women Helping Battered Women organization. Another way she likes to give her time is to volunteer for animal rescue.

Jamie looks forward to not only helping the Miss Vermont USA Competition grow, but also looks forward to putting Vermont on the map at the 2012 Miss USA Competition. Her favorite hobbies include running, hiking, yoga, reading and leading a healthy lifestyle. She describes herself as motivated, tenacious, and fun.
