Elana Wu - Miss Universe Canada 2012 Profile
Elana Wu | Miss Universe Canada 2012
Age: 22
Height: 5'8"
Hometown: Richmond
BIO: Elana Wu graduated in 2009 from West Coast College of Massage Therapy and is currently enrolled in Thompson River University for Bachelor in Health Sciences.
She was born in Taiwan and has lived in Canada since 1996, making her fluent in both Mandarin and English.
Elana is currently working as a full time health care professional working two jobs as a Registered Massage therapist.
Her goal is to become a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine because she believes in a natural approach to health and healing that recognizes the integrity of the whole person.
She has always been interested in arts, drawing, music and fashion. During high school sculpting and drawing came to her intuitively and Elana excelled in those fields as well as academic subjects.
After college she was blessed with the opportunity to take voice lessons with Ariel Sung who taught her how to sing. She performed as a solo singer on stage few times in front of crowds ranging from 200-300 people. The experience has made stage performances become more natural for her.
On December 18th 2011, she was given the chance to volunteer as a model in the Winter Runway 2011 event for T.C.C.B.C (Taiwan Chamber of Commerce in British Columbia). The event has inspired her to try out a model course in Stage One Academy, for her to pursue more exposure to model for runway shows and print work. With the experience behind her, she decided to join the Miss Universe Canada 2012.
If chosen to be Miss Universe Canada, Elana will dedicate her time to raise awareness in the Natural Medicine health field.
Elana’s personal motto is: “to never be afraid to try anything that is worthwhile. Cause life’s too short to regret!”
