Priyani Puketapu wins Miss Universe New Zealand 2011
20 year old Miss Wellingtong, Priyani Puketapu was crowned as the new Miss Universe New Zealand 2011 in a beauty pageant held on May 1 at the Amora Hotel (formerly Duxton), Wellington. She was crowned by Miss Universe New Zealand 2010, Ria van Dyke.
Priyani Puketapu is studying a bachelor of communication, major in journalism. She stands 5'8" tall and will represent New Zealand at Miss Universe 2011 beauty pageant to be held on September 12 in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
The 1st run-up was Miss North Harbour, Talia Bennett. While the 2nd run-up was Miss Howick, Courtney Ramsdale.
Completing the top 5 finalists were Miss Tend-a-Foot, Nancy Yan and Miss Great South Vets, Isabelle Pearson.
