Tara Teng
23 year old Tara from Fort Langley is a 1st generation Canadian, with ancestors from Western Europe and South East Asia, she was influenced as a child by various cultures, developing a love of travel, arts and people. This beauty can speak English and French and believes that the value of human life is immeasurable, a conviction that drives her to spend all her time working to end violence against women and child exploitation.
Teng is presently 4th year of her degree in education and sociology. A passionate and down-to-earth person, that's how she describes herself. She enjoys rock climbing, swimming and reading and her favorite foods are salmon from Canada and Thai green curry.
"With conviction - to live with integrity and always grow in character" is her personal motto in life.
Canadian Tara will compete against other 119 contenders vying the title of Miss World 2012 which celebrates the grand finale on August 18 in Ordos, Inner Mongolia at the People's Republic of China. It is one of the most celebrated and the oldest surviving beauty contests in the world since 1951. If ever she wins the crown, she will stay in London entire her reign and will travel to represent the Miss World Organization and its various causes.
