Sirapassorn Auttayakorn wins Miss Tiffany Universe 2011
21 year old Sirapassorn “Sammy” Auttayakorn was crowned Miss Tiffany Universe 2011 in the resort city of Pattaya on May 6. She was crowned by Nalada Thamthanakom, Miss Tiffany Universe 2010.
3rd year communication arts student, Sirapassorn Auttayakorn from Bangkok’s Ramkamhaeng University and Suan Dusit University bested 29 other contestants in a pageant watched by millions of Thais through a live telecast. She received a cash prize of 120,000 baht (US$4,000) and a Toyota Yaris.
The 1st run-up was Saranrat “Nat” Chaiyakorn, she will get 100,000 baht (US$3,300). And the 2nd run-up was Tissanamadi “Gigi” Bunniyom, she will receive 20,000 baht (US$750).
Special Awards were also given out. Tissanamdi, won the best in costume and Miss Photogenic special awards. Serinapa Petchaboon received Miss Unlimited Sexy Star for being the best in swimsuit. Miss Congeniality went to Archiraya Trithanawiboon. Most stylish cocktail dress went to Atchreechaya Tanuganurat. Miss NuRiss Beauty Award went to Variny Khumpaiphuan. And the Miss Silky Skin By Asoke Skin Hospital was awarded to Sirapassorn Auttayakorn.
The Miss Tiffany Universe pageant of the cabaret theatre Miss Tiffany Pattaya features the most beautiful transgenders and transvestites in Thailand. It has attracted young transgenders: from students to professionals, and has launched the career of a number of past winners.
In an interview, Sammy said Treechada is her inspiration because she has opened more avenues for transgender men in Thailand. Treechada has set an example to the Thais that transgenders can also make it to the mainstream entertainment industry.
