Miss Bahamas 2011 winners are Anastagia Pierre and Sacha Joyce
Miss Bahamas Universe 2011, Anastagia Pierre
22 year old Anastagia Pierre was crowned as the new Miss Bahamas Universe 2011 in a beauty pageant held on May 1 at the Atlantis Theater in Paradise Island. She was crowned by Miss Bahamas 2010, Braneka Bassett.
Anastagia is the 1st run-up of last year's Miss Bahamas 2010. She was former Miss Florida Teen USA 2004 and competed in Miss Teen USA 2004. She was also Miss Florida USA 2009 and competed in Miss USA 2009 contest.
Pierre was also the 2nd run-up at Miss Intercontinental 2010 pageant.
Standing 1.76m tall, Anastagia Pierre will represent Bahamas at Miss Universe 2011 beauty pageant to be held on September 12 in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Joyce was featured as the Tribune's Athlete of the Week in 2004. She also represented her country in the Carifta Games 2005 where she was awarded a silver and bronze medals in the heptathlon and 4x4 categories.
Sasha was also one of the founding members if Mckendree University's International Stdent Organization and a member of the University's Black Student Organization.
Miss Bahamas Universe 1st run-up was Sharie Delva. While Miss Bahamas World 1st run-up was Daronique Young. Completing the top 5 finalists was Kristy Evans.
