BIO:
DESCRIBE YOUR CHILDHOOD/GROWING YEARS (8-13 Years old)
1. Together with my two other siblings – Crezeleigh and Cedrick, we grew up with my Mama while my father pursued employment abroad to support our family. In his absence, my mother took the place of my father; given our family's spiritual orientation, she trained us and emphasized that foremost in life is quest for quality education, and the development of higher standard of moral character and values of honesty and integrity; qualities of perseverance and hard work; the concern for others; and love of country.
As a toddler, I experienced a lot of play with childhood friends.
Despite our family's financial constraints, my parents were able to afford toys and dolls for us to enjoy.
At school, I spent quality time in the library, burning the midnight candle. And in my free time, I played a lot with my friends as part of our extra-curricular activities, not to mention doing house chores to maintain its order and upkeep.
WHAT LESSONS DID YOU LEARN FROM YOUR CHILDHOOD/GROWING YEARS?
Obedience to parental advice, valuing teachers and elders' admonitions; frugality in handling finances; maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of the surroundings, personal hygiene and self-discipline; and respect for the rules at home, in school and the community.
WHAT IS YOUR MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT?
I was ten years old in grade school, when I first joined an inter-school beauty pageant. I was so shy and inexperienced but I won as second runner-up nonetheless. This helped me develop self-confidence and the belief that through sheer hard work, determination and dedication, everything is attainable.
WHAT IS YOUR ENVIRONMENTAL ADVOCACY?
I believe that first and foremost in the preservation of the environment is the development of education and awareness in every human creature on the ways he/she could preserve mother earth. This is my advocacy. This shall begin at home, at school and in the community. At school it must be integrated in the curricula for all levels of education.
Since I represent the Municipality of Sapi-an which is one of the "Cleanest & Greenest" towns in the Philippines, I want to promote its environmental program by campaigning for tree-planting and improving waste management, among other concrete actions to preserve the environment.
