Miss Australia, Jesinta Campbell Sabotaged at Miss Universe 2010

Miss Australia, Jesinta Campbell, claims that she was sabotaged; implies Miss Philippines, Maria Venus Raj and Miss Mexico, Jimena Navarette may be behind it!

Jesinta Campbell claims her Miss Universe chances were hurt when her National Costume was sabotaged by another candidate(s) when it was lined with pins. According to her, “I felt these sharp pains when something stuck into my back. I took the top off and found all these pins had been stuck into it.”

Miss Australia did not name names but Campbell remarked that contestants from Mexico, South and Central America, and the Philippines were notably aggressive in the competition, implying that they may be behind it! “Winning is so important for those girls because they become queens and are worshiped if they win, and it changes everything forever for them.”

South and Central American delegates have always done well in international beauty pageants. They are always well-prepared and “aggressive”. At this year’s Miss Universe, several South American countries made it as Top 15 Quarter-Finalists. Miss Mexico won the title. Miss Philippines was 4th runner up.

Campbell's claims of sabotage is nothing new. Many other losing beauty pageant contestants in the past have made claims of sabotage. And they were never proven right. The costume Miss Australia is talking about, though, had been the subject of controversy even before the pageant. Many have called it “horrendous” and reports have labeled it “a travesty”. Frankly, the costume didn’t need sabotaging!
