Miss World 2012 Early Christmas Dinner

Christmas celebration in August? Yes! You heard it right! The Miss World 2012 beauties had a fun-filled early Christmas dinner together with their families and national directors. It is the pageant's tradition each year and it won't stop even though the change of date happened this year.

The top 5 finalists in the talent competition: Panama, China, Philippines, Jamaica and Norway were asked to perform during the event as special entertainers of the night.

Hosting the event was Steve Douglas. Misses Hong Kong and Vietnam immediately become the "clown" of the party as they told jokes and put some good laughter from their crowd. The stunning Miss Colombia celebrated her 21st birthday with her 115 new found friends.

It was a relaxing and fun event for the girls where they can rest and enjoy for one night as the competition heats up. The final dress rehearsal will took place a day before the final coronation night on Saturday, August 18.

Mutya ng Pilipinas 2012 Results

Last August 12 at the University of the Philippines Diliman Theater, the annual Mutya ng Pilipinas beauty pageant took place. The stunning Camille Guevarra from Pocac, Pampanga hailed as this year's Mutya ng Pilipinas 2012–Asia Pacific International.

Crowned as Mutya ng Pilipinas 2012–Tourism was Cebu's pride Rizzini Alexis Gomez. The 1st run-up place went to Emma Tiglao from Central Luzon. 2nd run-up was Larah Grace Lacap.

A special title of Mutya ng Overseas Communities which was chosen among the delegates abroad went to Maribee Tiburcio from Northern California.

Tabanan, Bali Indonesia to host Miss Earth 2012

This year's official slogan of Miss Earth 2012 beauty pageant is “Bring the World to Tabanan and Bring Tabanan to the World”, as Tabanan, Bali in Indonesia was chosen as the venue for the 12th edition of the international contest.

Indojaya Kreasindo PT Graha (IKG) in cooperation with the Miss Earth Indonesia Foundation are this year's local host committee. A press conference was held last August 5 where Minggu Zoelkarnain, president of IKG, revealed that the event, whose official cause is the environment, is commited to the preservation of nature in Bali.

Almost 100 international beauties will be in Bali from October 3 to 28, where they will participate in over 60 activities planned by the organizing committee with Carousel productions, owner of Miss Earth.

The event will be broadcast live through Star World to over 150 countries, according to organizers. Zoelkarnain was even proud to say that he is hoping to invite Bill Clinton to the final gala. The former US president is now an activist for the environment.

Miss Earth Beauty Pageant 2012

The Miss Earth Beauty Contest was the only international pageant for women who promotes environmental awareness.

Since it's early launched in 2001, Miss Earth was considered to be one of the "Big 4" international beauty competitions in the world. It was created and organized by Carousel Productions based in Manila, Philippines. The organization is headed by Ramon S. Monzon, President and Lorraine Espiridon Schuck, Executive Vice President and herself a former beauty queen (Mutya ng Pilipinas 1979 & 2nd run-up in Miss Asia Pacific 1979).

The pageant was held first in the Philippines since 2001 up to 2009. It was finally held outside the Philippines in 2010 (Nha Trang Vietnam).

Since the main theme of the pageant was Environmental Awareness, they are looking for young beautiful women who will stand for the protection, caring and preservation of our environment.

Each year, there are 4 finalists selected and all of them have titles and crowns named after the natural elements: Miss Fire (3rd run-up); Miss Water (2nd run-up); Miss Air (1st run-up); and the Miss Earth, who is the ultimate winner. It is the only pageant among the "Big Four" which have 4 titles and crowns.

Miss Supranational Suriname 2012: Periskia Laing

The 1st Miss Supranational Suriname 2012 pageant took place last August 12 at the Torarica hotel. The stunning Periskia Laing who won Miss Photogenic and Best in Bikini awards also went home the as the over all winner.

20 year old Periskia will now represent her country in the 2012 Miss Supranational finals in Sopot, Poland on September 15.

Gloria Naarendorp won the title of Miss Tourism Suriname. And the 1st run-up place went to Debora Ravenberg.

Gala Interactiva - Miss Venezuela 2012

The traditional "Gala de la Belleza" of Miss Venezuela 2012 was now renamed and called a “Gala Interactiva (Interactive Gala)”. This year, the event was scheduled last August 11 at the Venevision studios in Caracas.

Miss British Virgin Islands 2012 Results

21 year old Sharie de Castro was crowned as the new Miss British Virgin Islands 2012 during an annual pageant held last August 5 at the Multipurpose Sports Complex where 5 beauties competed.

Sharie bagged an ample amount of special awards including Miss Congeniality, People’s Choice, Best Talent, Best Promotional Speech, Best Interview, Miss Intellect and Miss Poised. She is a Graduate of Texas Christian University Employed at the Elmore Stoutt High School and also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

De Castro will represent British Virgin Islands in Miss Universe 2013 next year.

Miss Supranational Philippines 2012: Elaine Kay Moll

21 year old Elaine Kay Moll from Catarman, Samar was handpicked to represent the Philippines in the upcoming Miss Supranational 2012 pageant to take place on September 15 in Sopot, Poland.

Elaine stands 5'10" tall and currently a 3rd year student of business management who loves sports. She was the 1st run-up in the recently concluded Binibining Pilipinas 2012 and top a top 12 semi-finalist in Miss World Philippines 2011. Aside from her national level pageant stints, she also had the unique opportunity to compete in the Asia Model Awards held in Korea.

Miss Supranational Panama 2012 is Elissa Estrada Cortez

Elissa was crowned by outgoing beauty queen Lidia Elena McNulty Espino.

21 year old Elissa Estrada Cortez won the title of Miss Supranational Panama 2012 during an event held in Costa del Este, Panama, on August 6.

Standing 174cm tall, Elissa works as a professional model. She will going to compete and will represent the country during the Miss Supranational 2012 finals to be held in Sopot, Poland, on September 15.

Miss Namibia 2012: Tsakana Nkandi

22 year old Tsakana Nkandi from Windhoek won the title of Miss Namibia 2012 during a glittering pageant which was took place at the Country Club Resort and Casino on August 4 where 15 gorgeous candidates participated and battled for the crown.

Monique Peters finished as the 2nd run-up, and Patricia Hanstein was named 1st run-up. Ottilie Ambata won the Miss Photogenic award, and Claudia Halpya was voted by the other delegates as Miss Personality.

Tsakana stands 179cm tall and was expected to compete in Miss Universe 2012 on December, and in Miss World 2013 in Bali, Indonesia.

Lai Huong Thao is Miss Supranational Vietnam 2012

21 year old Lai Huong Thao from Hai Phong city won the coveted crown of Miss Supranational Vietnam 2012 which was held at the Ba Na Hills Mountain Resort in Da Nang city on August 5.

Standing 168cm in tall, Lai Huong was also awarded as Miss Sports and will represent Vietnam at the Miss Supranational 2012 pageant in Sopot, Poland, September 15.

This is the 1st time Vietnam held an exclusive national level competition to select a representative to Miss Supranational. The Southeast Asian country debuted in 2009 and entered the Top 15 semifinalists, was absent in 2010 and placed in the Top 5 finals in 2011 placing as the 3rd run-up. Miss Supranational Thailand 2012: Nanthawan Wannachutha

Miss Supranational Thailand 2012 pageant took place last August 1 at the Dream Hotel in Bangkok. The gorgeous Nanthawan Wannachutha eventually took home the crown. She will be the official representative of Thailand in Miss Supranational 2012 to be held in Sopot, Poland from August 28 to September 16.

26 year old Nanthawan works as a professional model. She stands 176cm tall and have won 3rd place at the World Super Model competition in China won the Fashion Asia Award 2012 for Best Female of the Year.

Miss World Sports 2012

The annual Sports event for this year's Miss World 2012 pageant will take it's final round on August 9.

Last August 7, a tryout was held as the qualifying round. Amongst the delegates participated, a select 24 strong and determined women was selected and grouped into 4.

The winner(s) will accumulate a special points which will be added to her total score and will be announced on the final coronation night on August 18.

Miss World Beach Fashion 2012

Formerly called as the Beach Beauty Fast Track, the new Beach Fashion allows every candidates their ability to fashion her swimwear and it is very good for her future prospects if her career is in fashion modeling. The competition is not only about how perfect or how each girl looks in her swimsuit, but also how she model and carry them, which makes perfect sense.

A panel of judges have chosen 40 semi-finalists who were recently photographed and filmed on the Inner Mongolia desert, but have not walked the runway for the judges. It will happen later in the competition.

The winner will be announced during the final live telecast on August 18.
