Miss Bahamas World 2009 Beauty Contest will be held on May 31. A total of 13 beautiful candidates will be participating for this year. The winner will be sent to compete at the Miss World 2009 Pageant on December 12 and will take place at London and Johannesburg, South Africa.

Miss Argentina 2009 Beauties was Crowned

Evelyn Lucia Manchon (photo top) from San Luis was named Miss Argetina World 2009 and will compete at the Miss World 2009 Pageant on December 12 at London and in Johannesburg, South Africa. She is 22 years old and stands tall at 1.76m.

Competing at the Miss International 2009 Contest to be held in Macau is Mercedes Viana from Santiago del Estero who holds the title Miss Argentina International 2009. She is only 18 years of age and stands 1.72m tall.

And the 21 year old Gisela Menossi from Cordoba was crowned as Miss Argentina Earth 2009. She stands 1.80m tall and will represent her country at the Miss Earth 2009 Beauty Pageant to be held in the Philippines.

Nadia Cerri, the National Director of Miss Argentina Pageant is now preparing the girls to compete in their respective pageants.

Miss Universe Canada 2009 is Mariana Valente

23 year old Mariana Valente was crowned Miss Universe Canada 2009 during a beauty pageant held at the John Bassett Theatre in Toronto on May 16. She is a student of languages at York University.

Mariana was born in Brazil and moved to Canada at age 12. She stands 1.75 m tall. She will represent Canada at the Miss Universe 2009 contest in the Nassau, Bahamas on August 23rd.

The 1st runner-up was model Ylenia Aurucci (26), who had been a contestant in Canada's Next Top Model; 2nd runner-up was Ksenia Mezenina, 3rd runner-up was Neda Derakhshan and the 4th runner-up was Isabelle Grastin.

TingJia Lorogiano won the People's Choice Award, while Chanel Beckenlehner won the Miss Elegance and Audience Favorite prizes; Xiao Sun was awarded Best Runway, and Christina Heslenfeld won the Best in Swimwear award.

56 women competed in this year's edition of the contest.

Katharine Brown won the Miss Scotland 2009 title

Katharine Brown won the Miss Scotland 2009 Beauty Pageant and will be representing her country at the Miss World 2009 Contest to be held in London and in Johannesburg, South Africa on December 12.

The beautiful blonde beat nine other finalists to land the glittering crown and title at Glasgow’s Clyde Auditorium. It was a night to remember as the 2,000-strong crowd clapped and cheered for their favorites.

Realmente Bella - Senorita Panama 2009 (Miss Panama) Winners

The reality TV show -which was delayed due to the presidential elections weeks ago- was on the eye of a worldwide audience due to the famous "Confucious invented confusion" answer by contestant Giosue Cozzarelli, who was eliminated one week prior to the final. The 10 contestants were supposed.

22 year old Nadege Herrera (photo right) was one of the winners of Realmente Bella - Senorita Panama 2009 Beauty Contest held held at the Tihany Spectacular Circus tent in Panama City last May 15. She will be representing her country at the Miss World 2009 Pageant later this year on Johannesburg, South Africa. Nadege is a professional model and stands 1.82 m tall, she holds a degree in Tourism and Marketing.

Competing at the Miss Universe 2009 Contest on August 23 at Nassau, Bahamas, representing Panama is the 22 year old Diana Patricia Broce (photo left) from Los Santos. She stands 1.70m tall and a former carnival queen holds a degree in finances.

The remaining finalists were Liseth Diaz (24), Stephanie Thompson (18), Lidia McNulty (20) and Maria Luisa Pretelt (22).

Miss Universe Japan 2009 is a model, Emiri Miyasaka

The winner of Miss Universe Japan 2009 Contest is a professional model, Emiri Miyasaka. She will represent Japan at Nasau, Bahamas for the Miss Universe 2009 Beauty Pageant on August 23.

Emiri was crowned by Hiroko Mima, Miss Universe Japan 2008. There are a total of 26 Official Contestants competed at the pageant which was organized by Ines Ligron.

Miss Singapore Universe 2009 is Rachel Kum

Rachel Kum won the title of Miss Singapore Universe 2009 Beauty Pageant. She will represent her country at the Miss Universe 2009 Contest on August 23 at Nassau, Bahamas.

1st run-up to the title was Iman-April Wang while Cheryl Gabrielle Wee was named as the 2nd run-up.

Emiko Thein and Jeanine Queen ended up in the top 5 finals.

Mirela Korac was named Miss Universe Slovenia (Slovenijie) 2009

22 year old Mirela Korac won the title of Miss Universe Slovenia 2009. She was crowned by Anamarija Avbelj, Miss Universe Slovenia 2008. Mirela will now compete representing her country at the Miss Universe 2009 Beauty Pageant on August 23 to be held in the beautiful Island Paradise, Nassau, Bahamas.



1st runner-up was Aida Muratovic while 2nd runner-up is Rebeka Pevec.

Miss Liberia 2009 Shu-rina Wiah

Miss Grand Bassa County, Shu-rina Wiah won the title of Miss Liberia 2009 Beauty Pageant with this year's theme of "Women of Substance". She is 21 years old and studying Public Administration at the African Methodist Episcopal University. She desires to become a Lawyer, with focus on defending the rights of women and children. In the future, she would like to use her voice as a concerned citizen to serve as Ambassador on behalf of young women.



Shu-rina participated in Miss Liberia 2008 Contest but ended unsuccessful. Now, she will be the representative of her country at the Miss World 2009 Contest to be held in Johanneburg, South Africa.

Larissa Costa was crowned Miss Brazil Universe 2009

25 year old Larissa Costa who is Miss Rio Grande do Norte won the Miss Brazil Universe 2009 Beauty Pageant last May 10. She stands 1.76m tall and will be representing her country at the Miss Universe, 2009 Contest on August 23 to be held in the beautiful Nassau, Bahamas.

Competing in Miss International 2009 representing Brazil is the 1st run-up, Rayanne Moraes, Miss Minas Gerais. While the 2nd run-up was Denise Ribeiro, Miss Distrito Federal and will compete in Miss American Continent 2009, in Ecuador.

Miss Para, Rayana Breda and Miss Ceara, Khrisley Karle was the 3rd and 4th runners-up respectively.

Contestants who were part of the top 10 are Misses Bahia, Parana, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina.

Miss Pernambuco was named Miss Congeniality while Miss Minas Gerais won the Best State Costume Award.

Renata Fan (Miss Brazil Universe 1999) and Nayla Micherif (Miss Brazil Universe 1997) hosted the beauty contest.

Miss French Polynesia 2009 was Nanihi Bambridge

18-year-old Nanihi Bambridge (center) was crowned Miss Polynésie Française (french Polynesia) 2009 last Sunday at l'Hôtel de ville, in Pirae.

She will represent the French Polynesia in Miss World 2009 on Johannesburg, South Africa.



The 1st RU was Ina Pater (Ambassador of Beauty) and 2nd RU Aruhoia Biret (Ambassador of Culture).

Sumaiyah Marope was crowned Miss Botswana 2009

Sumaiyah Marope of Gaborone was crowned Miss Botswana 2009. She will represent her country in Miss World 2009, December 12, in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The new beauty queen now owns a brand new Benz, worth P300,000. She will get a P50,000 bursary for academic course of her choice. Fuel company, BP, will supply the queen with fuel for a year.

Her first princess, Emma Wareus, walked away with P50,000 cash, while the second princess, Naledi Willers, pocketed P10,000.

America's Hip-Hop mogul Russell Simmons has sponsored the three winners with approximately P21,000 worth of jewellery.

The queen and her princesses will each get a diamond bracelet worth $700.



The organisers have promised to make the current queen's reign a massive success. They will soon sit down with her and develop her charity profile, which she will be taking to the Miss World pageant where she will represent the country. In the past, Miss Botswana queens have struggled to raise funds for their charity works, clothes and air-tickets to the Miss World pageant.

Miss Universe Great Britain 2009 was Crowned

Clair Cooper from London, was crowned Miss Universe Great Britain 2009 in a beauty pageant held at Birmingham. She is 26 years old and also a former Miss Earth England 2007. Claire will represent her country at the Miss Universe 2009 contest on August 23 to be held in the beautiful islands of Nassau, Bahamas.



Runners-up in the competition were 25-year-old Lydia Yhnell from Newport, and 19 year old Alize Mounter from Rhondda, Cynon, Taff.

Miss Philippines wins International Beauty & Model Festival 2009

Miss Philippines, April Love Jordan won the title of International Beauty & Model Festival 2009. The beauty pageant took place in China. April was a semi-finalists at the Bb. Pilipinas 2009 Beauty Pageant.

Andre Reithebuch was Mister Switzerland 2009

22 year old Andre Reithebuch was named as the new Mister Switzerland 2009 last May 4 at a beauty pageant held in Lugano.

Delmarque Vilela Gomes de Barros was declared as the 1st runner-up while Giovanni Romero was 2nd runner-up.

Andre is expected to represent his country at the upcoming Mister World 2009 contest.

Mister USA (United States), Joshua Day was names as the new Mister Universe Model 2009 which took place at the Barcelo Premium Punta Cana, in the Dominican Republic.

The runners-up were Mister Chile, Robinson Tajmuch (1st), Mister Italy, Francesco Allegra (2nd), Mister Afghanistan, Mahmud Jan (3rd), and Mister Cuba, Luis Miguel Moreta (4th).

Ebru Sam was crowned Miss Turkey 2009

Crowned as Miss Turkey 2009 was Ebru Sam, representing the Turkish community in Germany last April 29. She stands 1.75 m tall. Ebru represent her Turkey at the Miss World 2009 pageant in South Africa, December 12th.

Named as Miss Turkey Universe was Senem Kuyucuoglu, Miss Istanbul. She stands 1.86 m tall. Senam will compete at the Miss Universe 2010 beauty pageant.

Ebru Hacibedel, also from Germany, was chosen Miss Turkey Europe and will compete in the Miss Europe pageant to be held this or next year. And Begum Yilmaz was crowned Miss Turkey International. She will represent Turkey at the Miss International 2009 pageant in Macau next November.

Magdalena Elizabeth Schoeman win Miss New Zealand World 2009

18 year old therapist from Christchurch, Magdalena Elizabeth Schoeman won the title of Miss New Zealand 2009 Beauty Pageant held at the Dorothy Winstone Centre last April 25. She stands 1.73m tall and currently working as a model. Magdalena will represent her country at the Miss World 2009 Contest to be held in Johannesburg, South Africa on December 13.

1st run-up to the title was Natalie Sangster. She will represent New Zealand at Miss Tourism Queen International 2009 Contest in Zhengzhou, China.

Kyla Hei Hei was named as the 2nd run-up. She will go to Changchun, China to compete for Miss Leisure World 2009 Pageant.

Representing New Zealand at the Miss International Model of the Year 2009 is the 3rd run-up, Leilani Marsters.

And the 4th run-up, Hannah Matthews will travel to Harbin, China for the Miss Global Beauty Queen 2009 Competition.
