Laury Thilleman, Ms. Bretagne wins Miss France 2011

19 year old Miss Bretagne, Laury Thilleman won the title of Miss France 2011 and gets a prize of 100,000 Euro during the annual beauty pageant held in Caen, Basse-Normandieon on December 4. She was crowned by Miss France 2010, Malika Menard.

Laury Thilleman hails from Pontivy, is a student of Communications who stands 1.79 m tall and will represent France at Miss Universe 2011 in August.

The 1st run-up was Miss Languedoc, Jenna Sylvestre. The 22-year old student of commerce from Carnon stands 1.71 m tall and is expected to compete in Miss World 2011.

Completing the top 5 finalists were Miss Auvergne, Clemence Olesky; Miss Picardie, Anastasia Winnebroot; and Miss Ile de France, Jessica Mazaton.

This was the first time since 1954 that the Miss France contest was not under the patronage of Madame Genevieve De Fontenay, who broke her contract with Endemol months ago, citing creative differences. De Fontenay then created her own rival pageant, called “Miss Nationale”.

The Miss France commitee is now headed by former titleholder Sylvie Tellier.
