BIO:
My family has always given me good guidance. I learned not to take things for granted. And because I was small, I was always left out which made me realize that what other people think is not important. I should always stand for what I believe in even when alone.

Describe your childhood when you were growing up from 8 to 13 years old.

I had a very happy childhood and a very bonded family. I feel fortunate to have such a loving family that has always supported me in my decisions whilst offering me guidance and good advice. They have always ensured that I was always on the right path. Growing up, I attended Primary school and remember playing in the playground near my house everyday.

What lessons did you learn from your childhood/growing years?

During that period, my father would travel often and I would miss him a lot as a result but I think that taught me how important my parents are and not to take things for granted. Also, I was small as a kid and was a late bloomer so I was sometimes left out. However, looking back, I realise that it made me learn not to care so much about proving myself to others, and not to be influenced so much by what other people think. I also studied very hard and my mother taught me that anything can be attained as long as you set your heart on it, and you should always stand for what you believe in, regardless if you are standing alone.

What is your most memorable moment?

My most memorable moment was in June when I went to Los Angeles to visit my sister, whom I had not seen for a few years. I trekked with her for 10 miles to a small secluded area that had water flowing down a few huge boulders. There was a bridge that had been built but later abandoned, and my sister and I bungee-jumped off the edge. It felt exhilarating to be in such natural beauty, that was kept so untouched by modernisation. The view was breathtaking, and the air was very clean , fresh and unpolluted, while the water from the stream was cold, clear and clean. It was so unpolluted and beautiful, I hope it will always be preserved.

What is your environmental advocacy?

I hope to enact change by raising the level of grassroots awareness, convincing multi-national companies (MNCs) to commit to using more sustainable products and upholding more eco-friendly development. Lastly, I hope to influence government policies by proposing ideas on energy conservation.
