Miss Wales 2010 Beauty Pageant

Candidates
Name: Lysette Dyer
Age: 19
Hometown: Port Talbot

Bio: My name is Lysette Dyer and I am an energetic 19 year old student currently studying A Levels at Neath Port Talbot College. I also have an enjoyable part-time evening position at the DVLA. Ambitions change throughout a lifetime and my current ambition is go to university to study dance and fitness. I am an accomplished swimmer and swam in several events at the Wales age championships. At school I was on the swimming, netball and cross-country teams. In addition I like spending spare time with my elder and twin sisters’, modeling and avidly keeping fit (which is necessary for a dancer). I have participated in a variety of charity cat walk events, I am privileged to be the September model for the Swansea Life Magazine 2010 Calendar. I have had numerous articles published about my modeling career in Swansea Life Magazine and the South Wales Evening Post. Modeling and dancing in public boosts my self confidence and self esteem. I’m enjoying fundraising for The Joshua Foundation and appreciate the hard work it takes for the charity organisation to obtain support. With the ‘Beauty with a purpose’ theme in mind I not only intend to raise money for the charity, but while doing so incorporate action for the local environment. In 2008 I travelled to Beijing where I spent two weeks in and around the city. Seeing how diverse people’s lives are in China made me appreciate Wales even more. This is my first time at entering a pageant and I am delighted to be crowned Miss Neath Port Talbot and to be one of the representatives for Neath Port Talbot in the Miss Wales 2010 final. The Miss Wales 2010 will remain with me as an unforgettable experience and I shall endeavour to do my utmost best. To represent Wales in the Miss World contest would be an outstanding opportunity to act as an ambassador for Wales and make the world aware that Wales is well and truly on the world map, therefore winning Miss Wales would be an honour.
