May 30, 2008 - 18 year old Alexandra Helga Ivarsdottir representing Reykjavik was crowned the new Ungfru Island or Miss Iceland 2008. While the first runner-up is Ingibjorg Ragnheiour Egilsdottir, a 23 year old native from Austfiroingur. And declared as the second runner-up is Sonja Björk Jonsdottir from Svarfaoardal who is also an 18 year old stunner.
Alexandra Helga will represent Iceland in
Miss World 2008 beauty pageant to be held next December in
Johannesburg, South Africa. While First Runner-Up, Ingibjorg Ragnheiour will compete in
Miss Universe 2008 beauty contest in July to be held in
Nha Trang, Vietnam.
