Miss Earth Venezuela 2009 (Sambil Model) is Jessica Barboza

A native of Maracaibo, Jessica Barboza was crowned as the new Miss Venezuela Earth 2009 or Sambil Model 2009 on June 13 held in Margarita Island. Jessica works as a model and she will represent Venezuela in Miss Earth 2009 in the Philippines.

The 1st run-up, Andreina Gomez will compete in Miss American Continent 2009 in Ecuador.

Tami Farrell was declared as the new Miss California USA 2009 on June 10, 2009 after Executive director Keith Lewis fired previous Miss California USA Carrie Prejean from the position after accusations of Carrie repeatedly breaching her contract. Tami was also Miss Oregon Teen USA 2003 and Miss Teen USA 2003.

Miss Greece 2009 (Star Hellas / Miss Hellas / Miss Young) Contestants

Miss Greece 2009 also know as Star Hellas, Miss Hellas and Miss Young or ΣΤΑΡ ΕΛΛΑΣ, ΜΙΣ ΕΛΛΑΣ and ΜΙΣ ΓΙΑΝΓΚ as known locally will be held on June 15 and will be aired on Greece's private network ANT1. The winner of Star Hellas will go on to represent the country in Miss Universe 2009 Contest to be held in Nassau, Bahamas on August 23. While the new Miss Hellas will compete in the Miss World 2009 Pageant on Johannesburg, South Africa later this December. The 2nd run-up will travel to the Philippines for the Miss Earth 2009. And the runners-up will also compete in Miss International 2009 to be held in Macau and Miss Europe 2009.

Chanel Grantham was crowned as the new Miss Earth South Africa 2009 last June 6 at Emperors Palace, Johannesburg. She will represent her country at the Miss Earth 2009 Contest in the Philippines later this year.

"I'm a fun-loving person with a passion for life and a goal of making a valuable contribution to our earth. I’m studying a BSc in Property Studies at UCT and my vision for the future is to develop property that answers to the "GO Green" international demands fighting against global warming.

Miss California USA 2009, Carrie Prejean was fired by Trump

Miss California USA 2009 and Miss USA 2009 1st run-up, Carrie Prejean was officially fired by Donald Trump (Pageant owner) because of repeated contract violations.

“This was a decision based solely on contract violations including Ms. Prejean’s unwillingness to make appearances on behalf of the Miss California USA organization,” executive director Keith Lewis said in a statement. “After our press conference in New York we had hoped we would be able to forge a better working relationship. However, since that time it has become abundantly clear that Carrie is unwilling to fulfill her obligations under our contract and work together”, he added.

Even Mr. Trump, who co-owns the Miss USA organization and saved Prejean from losing her crown last month, did not stand in the way this time.

“I told Carrie she needed to get back to work and honor her contract with the Miss California USA Organization and I gave her the opportunity to do so,” Donald Trump said in the statement. “Unfortunately it just doesn’t look like it is going to happen and I offered Keith my full support in making this decision. Carrie is a beautiful young woman and I wish her well as she pursues her other interests.”

Miss California USA 2009 1st run-up Tami Farrell (also Miss Teen USA 2002) will immediately take over the crown and Prejean’s responsibilities as Miss California. The current Miss USA 2009, Kristen Dalton and Miss Universe 2008, Dayana Mendoza will also lend a hand in making appearances.

Miss USA 2009 2nd run-up, Alicia Monique Blanco of Arizona, steps up to 1st runner-up status, giving her a chance to become Miss USA 2009 if in case Kristen Dalton fails to do her responsibilities or if she wins the Miss Universe 2009 pageant next August 23 to be held in Nassau, Bahamas.
