Olivia Pinheiro of Bolivia will not compete in Miss Universe 2011

Miss Bolivia Universo 2011, Olivia Pinheiro who was recently talked about in news a few weeks due to controversies about her real age, has declined to represent her country in the Miss Universe 2011, according to a press release sent by Promociones Gloria, national license holder of Miss Universe in Bolivia, this Thursday.

It was reported by TV programs that Olivia Pinheiro had not been accepted in the Miss Universe 2011 contest because she didn’t fulfill the age requirements. Promociones Gloria confirmed that they had not sent in the paperwork yet, which meant the disqualification was not true. However, the subject raised a controversy that made national and international headlines.

Olivia Pinheiro never talked to the press people, as she was vacationing in Brazil with her family (she is half Brazilian on her father’s side). Doubts about her real age started making headlines in the Bolivian media as the eager audience wanted to know what would happen if she was not accepted in Miss Universe, and if not, who would replace her. However, she will remain ” Miss Bolivia 2010-2011 until she gives up her crown, in June.

Promociones Gloria indicates that the new Miss Bolivia 2011-2012 will be chosen in late June, and the winner from this contest will go on to represent the country in the Miss Universe 2011 to be held on September 12 in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
