Miss International 2005 launch her own Beauty Pageant

Philippines' Miss International 2005 Precious Lara Quigaman is launching her very own beauty contest together with her fellow beauty queens -- Bb. Pilipinas International 2006 Denille Lou Valmonte, who competed in Miss International 2006 and Bb. Pilipinas Universe 2002 Karen Loren Agustin, who competed in Miss Universe 2002.

Their beauty pageant was called "Turismo Pilipina" which is a nationwide search for the Filipina beauty who will be the official spokesperson for the Department of Tourism. Turismo Pilipina must promote the beauty and rich cultural heritage and promote the tourist spots and increase the tourism potentials of the Philippines.

Turismo Pilipina is open to natural-born Filipinas who are eager to contribute to the tourism promotions of the Philippines, and must have the ff. criteria:

- 18-25 years old
- at least 5’5
- Single and never been married or given birth
- good moral standing
- possessing beauty of face and figure
- at least a high school graduate
- has a good knowledge of Philippine tourism and the Philippines in general
