Miss Ecuador 2014 winner Alejandra Argudo

Miss Ecuador 2015 celebrating it's 61st year will be held on March 14 in Guayaquil. Hosting the event are Soledad Diab, Monica Chala, Jessica Bermudez and former Miss Ecuador Maria Susana Rivadeneira. It will be broadcasted by GAMA TV.

The reigning queen, Alejandra Argudo (photo above) will pass her title to her successor at the end of the competition. The new winner will represent Ecuador in Miss Universe 2015 pageant later this year.

Meet Miss South Africa 2015 Finalists

Miss South Africa 2014 winner Rolene Strauss

The annual Miss South Africa will be held it's edition for 2015 on March 29 at the Sun City Superbowl and will be televised live and simulcast on M-Net and Mzansi Magic.

The current titleholder Rolene Strauss (photo above), Miss World 2014 winner and Ziphozakhe Zokufa will crown the new winners at the end of the event.

The winner will be the official representative of South Africa in Miss World 2015 and Miss Universe 2015 pageants.

Maria Harfanti is Miss Indonesia 2015

Miss Indonesia 2015 winner Maria Harfanti

23 year old Maria Harfanti representing D.I. Yogyakarta, was crowned Miss Indonesia 2015 during the annual ceremony held at the Jakarta International Expo Hall on February 16. She was crowned by last year’s titleholder and the reigning Miss World Rolene Strauss from South Africa.

Maria represented her school (Trifakti University) at an international conference held in Thailand; took part in an international exchange program in 2012, and is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Business Management at the University of Indonesia. She is also an active pianist and singer.

She will represent Indonesia at the Miss World 2015 pageant later this year.

Niel Perez of Philippines won Mister International 2015

Mister International 2015 winner Philippines Mariano Niel Perez Flormata Jr.

A police officer from Tondo, Manila, became the first Filipino man to win the Mister International title in a event held in Ansan, South Korea.

Mariano Perez Flormata Jr., also known as Neil Perez of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Aviation and Security Group, became an online sensation soon after being announced as the winner.

Rabdu El Zein of Lebanon was named first runner-up, Tomas Dumbrovsky of Cazec Republic was the second runner-up. Rafal Maslak from Poland, considered by many “the one to beat”, ended the competition as 3rd runner-up, and rounding out the top 5 was Slovenia’s Mitja Nadizar, 4th runner-up.

Top 10 semi-finalists were Brazil – Matheus Martins, Japan – Masakazu Hashimoto, Korea – Youngho Park, Mexico – Alejandro Valencia, and Thailand – Vittawat Srikes.

The list of Top 15 quarter-finalists also had the names of Colombia – David Angel, Guam – Richard Johnson, Indonesia – Kevin Hendrawan, Myanmar – Aung Chan Mya, and Puerto Rico – Christian Ortíz.

Special awards winners were:

Most Stylish Award: Korea – Youngho Park
Mister Congeniality: Colombia – David Angel
Mister Photogenic: Japan – Masakazu Hashimoto
Best National Costume: China – Shi Yu Quan
People’s Choice Award: Poland – Rafał Maślak

Japan, Guam and Myanmar competed in Mister International for the first time.

In total, 29 young men competed for the title. Argentina, represented by Daniel Cajiao, withdrew due to personal reasons.

It was Mister International’s 9th edition, which was surrounded by controversy after the date being changed several times – fault of the Korean host – which caused the non-participation of around 20 contestants.

Paulina Vega of Colombia crowned as Miss Universe 2014

Miss Colombia, Paulina Vega Dieppa was crowned Miss Universe 2014, the 63rd edition of the pageant held at the Florida International University Arena in Miami, Florida, USA, beating out contestants from 87 other countries.

Miss Universe 2014 Top 5 Finalists

Miss USA, Nia Sanchez of Las Vegas, Nevada finished as 1st run-up. Miss Ukraine, Diana Harkusha is 2nd run-up. A surprised excellent performance by Miss Netherlands, Yasmin Verheijen earned her place as 3rd run-up. And finally, Miss Jamaica, Kaci Fennell ended as 4th run-up, which got a big reaction of disapproval from the crowd.

The non-inclusion of Miss Spain and Miss Philippines in the top 5 was shocking.

The Top 10 semi-finalists were Argentina – Valentina Ferrer, Australia – Tegan Martin, Philippines – Mary Jean Lastimosa, Spain – Desiree Cordero Ferrer, and Venezuela – Migbelis Castellanos.

The Top 15 quarter-finalists were Brazil – Melissa Gurgel, France – Camille Cerf, India – Noyonita Lodh, Indonesia – Elvira Devinamira, and Italy – Valentina Bonariva.

Miss Indonesia, Elvira Devinamira won the ‘Best National Costume’ Award edging four other finalists in a fierce battle over Twitter.

22 year old Paulina is the granddaughter of a legendary tenor, Gastón Vega. She is from Barranquilla, Colombia and is studying business administration. She is her country’s second Miss Universe, being the first Luz Marina Zuluaga, won back in 1958.

    Miss Universe 2014 Panel of Judges

    Donald J. Trump and Paula M. Shugart, president of the Miss Universe Organization, announced the full lineup of judges for the 63rd Annual Miss Universe Pageant, airing Sunday, January 25 (8-11 p.m. ET) on NBC. The Miss Universe contestants have been hosted in Doral, Florida and the pageant will air live from the FIU Arena. The pageant will also simulcast in Spanish on Telemundo.


  • Emilio Estefan (Cuban-American), 19-time Grammy Award winning musician and producer.

  • DeSean Jackson (USA), Washington Redskins wide receiver and return specialist; three-time Pro Bowler.
