Avanti Page crowned Miss Universe Sri Lanka 2014

24 year old Avanti Marianne Page was crowned Miss Universe Sri Lanka 2014 at the Hilton Colombo on August 17. She will represent Sri Lanka in Miss Universe 2014.

Tamara Makalanda finished in second place and will compete in Miss International 2014. Uddima de Silva finished in third place.

Khin Wai Phyo Han is Miss Myanmar International 2014

Khin Wai Phyo Han was crowned Miss Myanmar International 2014 at the National Theatre of Yangon on August 17. She will represent Myanmar in Miss International 2014 in Tokyo, Japan on November 11.

May Barani Thaw and Thadar Mariah finished in second and third place, respectively.

Miss International Hungary 2014 is Dalma Karman

Dalma Karman was crowned Miss International Hungary 2014 at the Corinthia Hotel in Budapest on August 15. She will represent Hungary in Miss International 2014 in Tokyo, Japan on November 11.

Laura Peto and Dotti Polgar finished in second and third place, respectively.

Nadia Ntanu to represent Ghana in Miss World 2014

25 year old Nadia Ntanu was designated Miss World Ghana 2014 and will represent Ghana in Miss World 2014 in London, England on December 14. Ntanu was hand picked as the result of the resignation of Giuseppina Nana Akua Baafi who won Miss Ghana last year.

Natasa Novakovic wins Miss Crne Gore 2014

18 year old Natasa Novakovic was crowned Miss Crne Gore 2014 at the Ruža Vjetrova Hotel in Dobra Voda on August 15. She will represent Montenegro in Miss World 2014 in London, England on December 14.

Maja Čukić was the first runner-up and Katarina Secković was the second runner-up.

Mariam Sibaja Bermudez wins Miss World Costa Rica 2014

24 year old Mariam Natasha Sibaja Bermudez from Perez Zeledon was crowned Miss World Costa Rica 2014 at Le Chandelier Restaurant in San Jose on August 24.

Standing 1.68m tall, Mariam will represent Costa Rica in Miss World 2014 in London, England on December 14.

Genesis Davila crowned Miss Mundo de Puerto Rico 2014

23 year old Genesis Maria Davila Perez, representing Arroyo, was crowned Miss Mundo de Puerto Rico 2014 during the annual competition held on August 13 at the Luis A. Ferré Performing Arts School Theater in Guaynabo.

The first
runner-up was Franceska Toro (Toa Baja) and the second runner-up was Rebeca Valentín Garcia (Dorado). They will represent Puerto Rico in pageants such as Miss Earth and Miss Grand International.

Shalymar Otero (Canóvanas), Darli Arni Pacheco (Ponce) and Tershya Soto (Yabucoa) completed the top six. Wilmarie Rosado (Adjuntas), Kassandra Meléndez (Carolina), Dalmar Ramos (Isabela), Jehanna López (Luquillo), Jelianie Hernández (Orocovis) and Laura Irizarry (San Juan) completed the top twelve semi-finalists.

Genesis Davila (Arroyo) won the Beach Beauty award, Rebeca Valentín Garcia (Dorado) won the Top Model and Sportswoman awards, Darli Arni Pacheco (Ponce) won the talent award and Tershya Soto (Yabucoa) won the Beauty with a Purpose award. 22 contestants competed in the pageant that was televised live on Univision Puerto Rico.

Standing 1.82m tall, Genesis will represent the Caribbean island during the Miss World 2014 finals to be held in London, England, December 14.

Eva Psychee Patalinjug crowned Mutya ng Pilipinas 2014

Five ladies emerged victorious at the Mutya ng Pilipinas 2014 Grand Coronation Night held August 8, Friday, at the Grand Ballroom of the Solaire Resort and Casino in Pasay City.

Miss Grand International 2014 in Bangkok, Thailand

The second edition of Miss Grand International will take place on Tuesday, October 7th, at the Indoor Stadium Huamark in Bangkok. Following up their successful debut last year, Thailand is preparing to welcome more than 80 beauties from around the planet to compete for a whooping cash prize of USD 40,000 and an apartment in Bangkok for the titleholder’s year of reign.

As this year’s plans are being finalized, it was revealed that the beauties will have the opportunity to visit Sukhothai Kingdom, the first capital of Thailand.

Yameme Ibrahim crowned Miss Grand Brasil 2014

Yameme Ibrahim, from Foz do Iguaçu, Parana was crowned Miss Grand Brazil 2014 which took place in Olímpia. She will represent Brazil in Miss Grand International 2014 on October 8 in Bangkok, Thailand.

Chen Kuan Lien crowned Miss Republic of China 2014

Chen Kuan Lien (photo above, silver gown) was crowned Miss Republic of China 2014 held at the Liberty Square Convention Center in Taipei on August 10. She is expected to represent Taiwan, under the Chinese Taipei designation, in Miss World 2014 in London, England on December 14.

Jevon Iola King is Miss Trinidad & Tobago 2014

24 year old Jevon Iola King was crowned Miss Trinidad and Tobago 2014 held at the Hilton Trinidad in Port of Spain on August 10. She will represent Trinidad and Tobago in Miss Universe 2014.

The first runner-up was Anikka Reveillac and the second runner-up was Krystyna-Lee Alexander.

Jessica Garcia Caicedo wins Miss Mundo Colombia 2014

21 year old Jessica Leandra Garcia Caicedofrom Manizales was crowned Miss Mundo Colombia 2014 held at the Patria Theater in Bogota on August 13.

Standing 1.72m tall, Jessica will represent Colombia in Miss World 2014 to take place in London, England on December 14.

Manuela Sánchez and Laura Juliana Mora finished in second and third place, respectively.

Megan Young visits Puerto Rico!

Delighted with Puerto Rico

With the song "Querube" interpreted by Eddie Ricardo, Megan Young, Miss World 2013 was visiting Puerto Rico and met with the local press at the Los Almendros Hall of the Condado Plaza Hilton in San Juan. Young welcomed the participants and said in Spanish "I am very happy to be on the island and feel the warmth of its people. We would have loved to be more days in Puerto Rico, but the schedule of activities changed after my appendicitis operation three weeks ago. But I'm glad to see my friend and sister Nadyalee and see the community work of the organization and to share with the girls"

Moreover, Steven Douglas, Events Director of Miss World apologized for the absence of Julia Morley, president and CEO of Miss World Ltd, who "is resting after a bad cold that made her unable to travel". Douglas added that "We are delighted to be here to see and support the work of Beauty with a Purpose. Puerto Rico is a franchise that is very important to us at Miss World".

Douglas took the opportunity to discuss the excellent performance of Puerto Rican beauties and clarify rumors of why no other Puerto Rican beauty have won the Miss World title "Puerto Rico is a successful franchise and their candidates always stand out. Over the past 12 years Puerto Rico has qualified 9 times in Miss World. This makes the franchise a standout from the rest of the countries. I have no doubt that Puerto Rico will soon have its next Miss World. Sometimes it's very difficult because this event receives every year around 125 to 130 youths from around the world with excellent qualifications."

Young and Douglas will be in the Top Model and Beach Fashion challenge events to be held at the Museum of Transportation in Guaynabo and also will attend the Beauty with a Purpose gala at the Juan Boria Theater in Dorado. The results of these and all challenge events will be announced at the Grand Final of Miss Mundo de Puerto Rico on Wednesday, August 13th from 7:00 pm live on Univision Puerto Rico.

Julia Gama wins Miss Mundo Brasil 2014

21 year old Julia Weissheimer Werlang Gama from Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul was crowned Miss Mundo Brasil 2014 held at the Costão do Santinho Resort, in Florianópolis last August 9. She received the new Brazilian crown from the hands of Miss World Americas 2013 Sancler Frantz.

The 1st runner-up was 17-year-old Vitoria Strada, Miss Pintada Islands, while the 2nd runner-up was Miss Lobos Island, Vitoria Bisognin. Miss São Paulo, Victoria Ceotto, finished in 4th place, and Miss Santa Catarina, Elisa Freitas ended in the 5th position.

The regional queens of beauty, announced on stage, were Camila Nantes of Mato Grosso do Sul (Miss World Centro-Oeste), Rafaela Machado of Sergipe (Miss World Nordeste), Hanna Weiser of Amazonas (Miss World Norte), Victoria Ceotto of São Paulo (Miss World Sudeste) and Julia Gama of Rio Grande do Sul (Miss World Sul).

Winner of Beauty With a Purpose was Miss São Paulo, Vitória Ceotto. 40 finalists participated on this year´s final event, which had as very special guests Nicklas Pedersen, Mr World 2014, Lucas Montandon, Mr Brazil 2015, Roberta Pereira, Miss World Brazil 1986, Jane Borges, Miss World Brazil 2006, Tamara Almeida, Miss World Brazil 2008, Juceila Bueno, Miss World Brazil 2011, Yoana Don, Miss World Argentina 2014, among others. Miss World Brazil 2010 Kamilla Salgado was one of the hosts, along with Cris Barth and Francisco Budal.

The new Miss World Brazil was the winner of some important preliminary events: Beach Fashion, Best in Gown, Top Model, Most Beautiful Face, Multimedia. She placed 2nd in Beauty With a Purpose and Interview, and 4th in Talent.

Standing 1.77m tall, Julia currently works as a chemical engineer. Aside from the titla and crown, she will also receive a full university scholarship by Estacio, a brand new car and will now get ready to compete in Miss World 2014, in London, England on December 14.

Catherine Makaya crowned Miss Zimbabwe 2014

19 year old Catherine Makaya (19) was crowned Miss Zimbabwe 2014 held at the LaChelle Travel Agency in Harare on August 5. She will now represent Zimbabwe in Miss World 2014 to take place in London, England on December 14.

Tendai Hunda is the first runner-up and Letwin Tatenda Chinomona is the second runner-up.

The original winner, Thabiso Phiri, resigned from her title and the pageant was re-run to select her replacement.

Chulakshi Ranathunga wins Siyatha Lux Miss World Sri Lanka 2014

25 year old Chulakshi Saubhagya Ranathunga was crowned Siyatha Lux Miss World Sri Lanka 2014 held at the Hilton Colombo on August 5.

Standing 1.72m tall, Chulakshi will represent Sri Lanka in Miss World 2014 in London, England on December 14.

Ashvini Peiris and Anita Papali finished in second and third place, respectively.

Meet Miss Bahamas 2014 Winners

The Miss Bahamas 2014 pageant took place at the Atlantis Paradise Island in Nassau last August 3.

19 year old Rosetta Cartwright was crowned Miss World Bahamas 2014 during the matinee segment of the event.

Standing 1.78m tall, Rosetta will represent Bahamas in Miss World 2014 in London, England on December 14.

Shanae Strachan was the first runner-up and Chantel O'Brien was the second runner-up.

Meanwhile at the same event, 22 year old Tomacina Culmer was crowned Miss Universe Bahamas 2014 during the evening segment.

Standing 1.80m tall, Tomacina will enter the Miss Universe 2014 contest later this year.

Rokara Hepburn was the first runner-up and Ominique Burrows was the second runner-up.

Jaynene Lewis wins Miss British Virgin Islands 2014

24 year old Jaynene Jno Lewis was crowned Miss British Virgin Islands 2014 held at the Multi-Purpose Sports Complex in Road Town on August 3. She will represent the British Virgin Islands in Miss Universe 2014.

Doneisha Maduro was the first runner-up and Aribella Parsons was the second runner-up.

Rosanna Chichester is Miss World British Virgin Islands 2014

23 year old Rosanna Kathrine Chichester, the outgoing Miss British Virgin Islands 2013, was crowned Miss World Virgin Islands 2014 during the Miss British Virgin Islands 2014 pageant held at the Multi-Purpose Complex in Road Town on August 3. She will represent the British Virgin Islands in Miss World 2014 in London, England on December 14.

Chichester was expected to compete in Miss Universe 2014 but the Miss British Virgin Islands committee decided to send the newly crowned Miss British Virgin Islands 2014, Jaynene Jno Lewis to Miss Universe 2014.

Debora Menicucci crowned Miss Venezuela Mundo 2014

24 year old Debora Sacha Menicucci Anzola from Caracas was crowned Miss Venezuela Mundo 2014 held at the Estudio Uno of Venevision in Caracas on August 2.

Standing 1.80m tall Debora will represent Venezuela in Miss World 2014 in London, England on December 14.

Adriana Marval and Erika Pinto finished in second and third place, respectively.

Brumhilda Ochs wins Miss Namibia 2014

22 year old Brumhilda Ochs was crowned Miss Namibia 2014 at the Windhoek County Club Resort on August 2. She will represent Namibia in Miss World 2014 in London, England on December 14 and/or Miss Universe 2014.

Bernedine Kubersky was the first runner-up and Anienke Karsten was the second runner-up.

Romina Rocamonje Fuentes wins Miss Bolivia 2014

21 year old Romina Rocamonje Fuentes from Beni was crowned Miss Bolivia Universo 2014 during the Miss Bolivia 2014 pageant held at the Siriono Hall of the Fexpocruz in Santa Cruz de la Sierra on July 31.

Standing 1.72m tall, Romina will represent Bolivia in Miss Universe 2015.

25 year old Neidy Andrea Forfori Aguilera from Santa Cruz de la Sierra was crowned Miss Bolivia Mundo 2014. She stands 1.78m tall and will enter the Miss World 2014 in London, England on December 14.

Joselyn Toro Leigue, 20 years of age also from Santa Cruz de la Sierra was crowned Miss Bolivia Internacional 2014. She stands 1.79m tall and will go to Miss International 2014 in Tokyo, Japan.
