Miss World 2012 Top Model

The 120 delegates of Miss World 2012 took part on July 23 at the Top Model Competition as a part of this year's challenge events.

The Official Miss World website first reported 57 candidates, and then published a new report with 47 only names. 10 ladies were eliminated.

The top 47 will compete again and walk the runway for the Top Model Finals where they will wear clothing provided by Cashmere brand 1436 on August 12.

Miss World Talent Final 2012

Miss Brazil, Mariana Notarangelo

A numerous delegates participating at this year's Miss World 2012 took part in the auditions in front of a panel of judges for the Talent category.

After the process of screening endless performances which included dancing, singing, instrument-playing and even magic tricks, the judges have chosen the top 25.

On August 4 at the grand ballroom of the official residence hotel, the group even narrowed down from 25 to a select 15 finalists who will go to perform their piece at the finals to be held on August 10.

The winner of the talent competition will be announced during the Miss World finals on August 18. Note that the winner and finalists will only earn extra points, and it doesn’t mean they will reach or fast tracked into the semi-finals. Their score will just be added to their over-all points and be averaged.

Miss Universo Honduras 2012 Contestants

The grand coronation night of Miss Universe Honduras 2012 will take place on August 31 at the Club Hondureño Arabe. It will be produced by CARIMAXX and will be telecast live through Channel 11.

The 13 official candidates were presented to the press during a special event. The delegates vying for this year's crown are:

Miss Universe New Zealand 2012 was Dethroned!

The South-African born beauty queen, Avianca Bohm (middle) who was crowned Miss Universe New Zealand 2012 last June 3 in Wellington made international headlines for the issue regarding her nationality, has finally been stripped of her title. She was being replaced as Miss Universe New Zealand by the 1st run-up Talia Bennett (left) who humbly says it is “sad and unfortunate” how the crown came to be stripped from her.

Organizers have announced that the 23 year old Bennett as the new winner after Bohm revealed in an email from South Africa that she had lost her bid for citizenship.

The pageant's spokeswoman Zeisha Fremaux state the brief email from Avianca had come one day before the August 1 deadline given for her to fast-track her citizenship by so that she could retain the title.

The issue became more interesting when Bohm gave an interview to a South African newspaper slamming Miss Universe New Zealand organiser Val Lott for distorting facts to “save her own ass” and “suck” and claimed the Miss Universe New Zealand title was rightfully deserving on hers.

In a press release, Bennett said being finally crowned the winner was “A wonderful honor. It has been sad and unfortunate how events have unfolded and I am truly humbled in accepting my selection,” she said.

She said she was “mindful of the very high standards” and she accepted “the challenge and responsibility … to justify this significant honor”.

Avianca's agent Amanda Bransgrove said her client, who is in South Africa, would be bitterly disappointed by the news. She was critical of the way event organizers had handled the situation.

“I don’t think (Ms Lott's) intentions were pure. They were self serving.”

Talia will get ready and continue to compete in the Miss Universe 2012 competition on December.

Maarja Tonisson is Miss Supranational Estonia 2012

The grand finale of Miss Supranational Estonia 2012 took place last June 16 at the Solaris shopping center in Tallinn. The stunning Maarja Tonisson eventually crowned as the new winner.

Presently works as a dancer and model, Maarja stands 1.78m tall. She will represent Estonia in Miss Supranational 2012 pageant on September in Sopot, Poland.

Miss Supranational South Africa 2012

The former Miss Atlantico Internacional 2011 winner, Michelle Gildenhuys was chosen by "South African Beauties", the license holder of Miss Supranational in South Africa as their official representative this year.

23 year old Michelle from Kraaifontein, Cape Town stands 173cm tall and a finalist in Miss SA 2008. She will travel to Sopot, Poland to compete in Miss Supranational 2012 finals on September 15.

Miss Supranational Iraq 2012: Susan Dervishi

Last June 23, the singer, music producer and model Susan Dervishi was selected as the new Miss Supranational Iraq 2012.

Susan loves to play violin, piano and drums. She enjoys singing Rnb and club but open for different genres as long as it sounds good. She will be the official entry of Iraq at the Miss Supranational 2012 pageant to be held on September at the Opera Lesna in Sopot, Poland.

New Miss Bahamas 2012 - 2013 Winners

14 lovely beauties battled out for the title and the crown of Miss Bahamas which was held at the Grand Ballroom of the Atlantis Resort, Paradise Island in Nassau last July 29.

19 year old Celeste Marshall (top, left) who hails from Nassau was crowned Miss Universe Bahamas. She stands 1.81m tall and also won the Top Model award.

Marshall will represent her island country at the upcoming Miss Universe 2012 pageant on December.

Meanwhile in the same event, the crown of Miss World Bahamas was bagged by the gorgeous De’andra Bannister (middle, right).

Standing 1.75m tall, De'andra from Nassau is currently a dentistry student. She will compete in Miss World 2013 in Bali, Indonesia next year.

A nursing student who stands 1.73m tall, Deandra Harris (bottom, left) won the title of Miss Supranational Bahamas and will compete representing her country in Miss Supranational 2012 competition in Sopot, Poland on September 15.

And finally, 19 year old Irina Key was named as Miss Intercontinental Bahamas. She will compete in Miss Intercontinental 2012 pageant later this year.

Miss Republica Portuguesa 2013

Last July 27 at the Olga Cadaval Cultural Center in Sintra, the new Miss Republica Portuguesa 2013 was crowned with Elisabeth Rodrigues winning the title of Miss World Portugal 2013.

Standing 1.74m tall, Elisabeth will be the official representative of her country in Miss World 2013 in Bali, Indonesia next year.

Crowned as Miss International Portugal and placed as the 1st run-up was Indira Ferreira. She will compete in Miss International 2012 in Okinawa, Japan on October.

Finished as the 2nd run-up and crowned Miss Tourism Queen Portugal was Carmen Fernandes, who will enter the Miss Tourism Queen International 2012 to be held in China.

Vanessa Henriques placed as the 3rd run-up and crowned Miss Supranational Portugal. She will travel in Poland to compete in Miss Supranational 2012 contest.

Joana Peta finished as the 1st run-up and Geraldine Zawisla ended as the 2nd run-up.

Miss Supranational Canada 2012

A special casting call was held to choose the lucky girl to represent Canada in Miss Supranational 2012 to be held on September in Plock, Poland.

The title of Miss Supranational Canada 2012 was given to the stunning and former Miss Teen Canada 2008, Katie Starke, a 22 year old 4th year student at the York University where she is a full scholar.

After graduating, Katie hopes to gain experience in the business industry and further her studies, completing her Masters in Business Administration (MBA). American businesswoman, Susan Arnold has been her inspiration to value education and set high goals for her future.

Aside from her education, Starke also values her family. She is the oldest of 4 siblings and grew up in Uxbridge, Ontario. Everyday, she strives to be a good role model to others by being a strong, independent and hard working woman. She feels very proud and fortunate to live in a country where women are valued and given equal opportunities to pursue their dreams. She believes today’s women can be anything they want to be.

Playing hockey since she was 5 was always a fun hobby for Katie. Her hard work and practice over the years has earned her an athletic scholarship at York University to play on the Women’s Ice Hockey team. She also loves yoga, hiking, running and biking. Being active and physically fit is one of her top priorities as she believes that it is an important aspect of each and every day. She plans to run in a marathon someday.

Starke's advocacy is to support causes that directly affect women such as women’s cancers and women’s shelters. As well, she also supports concussion awareness, an issue affecting many hockey players today. She is a spokesperson for stopconcussions.com.

Miss Universe Srbije 2012: Brana Mandic

Miss Universe Serbia or locally referred to as Miss Universe Srbije 2012 pageant was held during a special casting call in Belgrade with Branislava Mandic winning the crown.

20 year old Brana, as she often called by peers close to her is presently a 2nd year student of pedagogy from Novi Sad, also working as a professional model. She have won a blue belt in karate and in her spare time, she loves riding a bike and rollers.

The new Miss Universe Srbije is currently working a lots of fashion reviews, editorials and catalogs. Her first engagement as a model was fashion week in Belgrade for Autumn / Winter 2011, presenting the collections of the Serbian designers Bata Spasojevic, Marija Sabic, and Sandra Obradovic but also exclusive swimming clothes and costumes "Il Cuore Italiano". She also gave her contribution as a model in humanitarian fashion show of Adriana Lushenzy as her work of charity.

Branislava was the 2nd run-up in last year's Miss Serbia 2011 contest. She will now represent her country in this year's Miss Universe 2012 competition on December.

Siyatha Lux Miss Universe Sri Lanka 2012

Last July 22 at the Hilton Colombo, the grand finale of the Siyatha Lux Miss Universe Sri Lanka 2012 pageant was held with the gorgeous Sabrina Herft winning the title.

24 year old Sabrina stands 5'9" tall hails from Colombo. She will be the official representative of Sri Lanka in Miss Universe 2012 contest on December.

Miss Supranational Ecuador 2012: Zulay Castillo Velasco

The new Miss Supranational Ecuador 2012 is Zulay Castillo Velasco. She was crowned as the 4th winner and she will represent Ecuador in Miss Supranational 2012 pageant in Sopot, Poland on September 15.

Zulay stands 175cm tall and speaks Spanish and English. She was a run-up in Miss Ecuador 2012 contest held last March.

Miss Eesti / Estonia 2012

The Miss Estonia 2012 or locally referred as the Miss Eesti 2012 pageant was recently held last July 12 in a small venue.

The gorgeous 24 year old Katlin Valdmets have won the coveted crown. She stands 175cm tall and will compete in the upcoming Miss Universe later this December.

Natalie Korneitsik (23) was the 1st run-up. While Margreta Joosep (19) placed as the 2nd run-up.

Miss Teen USA 2012 Results

The very 1st winner from Connecticut, Logan West was crowned by Danielle Doty as the new Miss Teen USA 2012 during a spectacular pageant held last July 28 at the Grand Ballroom, Atlantis Paradise Island in Nassau, Bahamas.

The event was hosted by Colin Hornett and and former Miss Teen USA Allie LaForce and webcast live via Ustream.

During the final round of competition, each of the top 5 finalists was asked a personal question. Logan replied when she was 14 years old and starting a program to prevent bullying as her greatest accomplishment, and that sincere answer captured the attention of the panel of judges and gave her the coveted crown.

As the new titleholder, West will live in Trump's Apartment in New York City together with the current Miss USA and Miss Universe during her reign. She will also be enrolled in The New York Film Academy, representing the Organization and working with multiple charitable alliances, including Best Buddies, Sparrow Clubs, Girl Talk, D.A.R.E. and Project Sunshine.

24 year old Bongani from Bulawayo stands 5'8.5" tall and speaks English, Shona and Ndebele. She is currently a university student taking up a course in development studies.
