Daniela Darmanin was crowned Miss World Malta 2012

The annual Miss World Malta was held last April 14 at La Valletta.

The gorgeous Daniela Darmanin eventually was crowned Miss World Malta 2012. She will be the official representative of her country in Miss World 2012 contest to be held on August 18 in Ordos, Inner Mongolia in China.

Stephanie Portelli finished as 1st run-up. While Alison Galea Valletta was the 2nd run-up.

Miss Liberia 2012 winner is Leda Knowlden

Leda Knowlden, an 18 year old stunner from Lofa County was crowned and won the title of Miss Liberia 2012 during an special event held last April 14.

Standing 170cm tall, Leda will represent the African nation at the 2012 Miss World competition in Ordos, China, in August 18.

Miss Mundo Argentina 2012 is Josefina Herrero

Josefina Herrero (Miss Mundo Corrientes), a 17 year old stunning beauty from Mercedes was recently crowned as the new Miss World Argentina 2012 or locally called as Miss Mundo Argentina which was held last April 13 at the Costa Galana Hotel in Mar del Plata, province of Buenos Aires.

Josefina stands 1.78m tall and she will represent the country in Miss World 2012 on August 18 in Ordos, Inner Mongolia in China.

Ending up as the 1st run-up was Tatiana Bischof, who will enter the Miss International 2012 competition later this year. The 2nd run-up place went to Daiana Galeano.

Maria Nazareth Cascante Madrigal wins Miss Costa Rica 2012

Miss Costa Rica 2012 pageant took place last April 13 at the Teletica's Marco Picado studio in San Jose. The lovely Maria Nazareth Cascante Madrigal Tambor was crowned as the eventual winner.

Finishing as the the 1st run-up was Ivonne Cerdas Cascante, while placed as the 2nd run-up was Maria Cristina Lizano Rodriguez.

21 year old Maria Nazareth stands 1.73m tall. She will be the official representative of her country in Miss Universe 2012 competition to take place on December.

Miss Universe Organization starts to accept Transgenders

During an interview on ABC 20/20 with Barbara Walters, Donald Trump (owner of the Miss Universe Organization) confirms that Jenna Talackova can compete in the Miss Universe Canada pageant, and if she wins, can go on to compete in the Miss Universe international pageant, representing Canada.

Trump also confirmed that women who have transitioned can compete in Miss Universe pageants in the future.

“For more than two weeks, the Miss Universe Organization and Mr. Trump made it clear to GLAAD that they were open to making a policy change to include women who are transgender,” GLAAD spokesperson Herndon Graddick said in a statement. “We appreciate that he and his team responded swiftly and appropriately.

The Miss Universe Organization today follows institutions that have taken a stand against discrimination of transgender women including the Olympics, NCAA, the Girl Scouts of America and The CW’s America’s Next Top Model.”

However, Talackova’s attorney Gloria Allred claims that the ruling doesn’t go far enough because she suspects it only applies to American and Canadian contestants. “Trump has conceded that he can’t keep Jenna out of the competition because it would violate both U.S. and Canadian laws,” she says. “Trump’s rule of requirement that a contestant be a naturally-born female seems to still be in effect in other countries around the world. We want Mr. Trump to eliminate this rule for the entire Miss Universe organization, but he has not agreed to do so. The rule is blatantly discriminatory and it is time to get rid of it — not just in the United States and Canada but around the world.”

Miss Universe president Paula Shugart said that Talackova’s legal threats were not part of the decision. “We want to give credit where credit is due, and the decision to include transgender women in our beauty competitions is a result of our ongoing discussions with GLAAD and not Jenna’s legal representation, which if anything delayed the process. We have a long history of supporting equality for all women, and this was something we took very seriously.”

This decision marks a big change in the history of the which was first edition in 1952.

Anna Arakelyan wins Miss Hayastan (Միսս Հայաստան) 2012

20 year old Anna Arakelyan won the crown of Miss Armenia 2012 or locally known as the Miss Hayastan (Միսս Հայաստան) pageant which was held last April 10 at the Gabriel Sundukyan National Academic Theatre in Yerevan.

Arakelyan will be the very 1st entry of Armenia in Miss World to be held on August 18, 2012 in Ordos, Inner Mongolia in China.

Rasa Vereniute wins Miss Lietuva 2012 (Lithuania)

A gorgeous beauty from Vilnius, 20 year old Rasa Vereniute was recently crowned as the new Miss Lietuva 2012 or internationally known as Miss Lithunia 2012 held last April 9 at the Svyturio Arena in Klaipeda.

Rasa will represent her country in Miss World 2012 on August 18 in Ordos, Inner Mongolia in China.

The 1st run-up was Greta Mikalauskyte. She is 19 years old from Siauliai and stands 174cm tall.

And 2nd run-up was 21 year old Egle Standaite from Vilnius. She stands 177cm tall and a former Miss Supranational finalist. She was also chosen the audience’s favorite.

One of the runners-up will enter the Miss Universe 2012 in December. As explained by Miss Lithuania organizer Ben Gudelis. It is the first time in history Lithuania competes in Miss Universe. They have been sending representatives at Miss World since 1993.

Aisha Valy crowned Miss Earth Reunion 2012

22 year old Aisha Valy (photo holding bouquet of flowers) from Entre-Deux won the title and the crown of Miss Earth Reunion 2012 during a competition held last April 1 in Sainte-Clotilde Exhibition Centre.

Anais Sadeyen was declared as Miss Fire. Estenie Sadeyen was Miss Air, and Solenne Abarnou won Miss Water.

Aisha will represent Reunion in the Miss Earth 2012 to be held on December later this year.

10 lovely contestants all over the French island have competed for the contest. Attending the event as a special guest was the reining Miss Earth 2011, Olga Alava of Ecuador.

Sumudu Prasadini is Derana Veet Miss Sri Lanka 2012

22 year old Sumudu Prasadini from Kurunegala won the title of Derana Veet Miss Sri Lanka 2012 during the conclusion of a pageant held at the Galle Face Hotel in Colombo.



Vinu Udani Siriwardena and Ramesha Galappaththi completed the Top 3 finalists.

An error occurred during the coronation moment, Siriwardena was mistakenly crowned as the winner. After the organizers noticed an error in the calculations, they decided to name Prasadini and Siriwardena joint winners but Prasadini went home with the triumph.

Sumudu will represent Sri Lanka in Miss World 2012 in Ordos, Inner Mongolia in China on August 18.
