Miss Chinese International 2009 Contestants

28 lovely delegates will compete at Miss Chinese International 2009 Beauty Pageant on January 17, 2009 at The Venetian Macao in Macao. The reigning winner Oceane Zhu, Miss Paris, France will crown her successor. The contest will be hosted by Eric Tsang and will be organized and televised by TVB.

After the swimsuits and evening gown competition, it finally arrived to the announcement of the top 5 delegates of Miss Universe 2007 Beauty Pageant. With the ranking of the average score, here are the top 5 (ranked):

Now, after the judges have made their decisions, the reigning Miss Universe 2006 from Puerto Rico, Zuleyka Rivera Mendoza is ready to crown her successor. Miss Japan, Riyo Mori is the new Miss Universe 2007. Riyo was born on December 24, 1986 in Aoi-ku, Shizuoka, Japan. She is working as a dance instructor in her country. She hopes to teach children dancing and how to believe in themselves.

    Throughout his career, fashion designer Marc Bouwer has worked with a dream list of celebrity clientele and has helped drive the retail market and invigorate the viability of American couture. The Marc Bouwer Couture Collection is sold at Neiman Marcus and specialty stores throughout the United States and has graced the cover of Harper's Bazaar, Oprah, Cosmopolitan, Instyle, Vanity Fair, Glamour, Vibe Magazine and many more.

    Lindsay Clubine
    Lindsay can currently be seen on NBC's smash hit "Deal or No Deal." She also stays busy, and constantly on her feet, modeling in both Los Angeles and New York City. When she has just a few minutes of downtime, Lindsay gets back to her roots by spending time with friends and family, enjoying the outdoors, playing sports, and volunteering her time with community service projects.

    Nina Garcia
    Nina is the Fashion Director for Elle magazine and a celebrity judge on BRAVO's Emmy-nominated "Project Runway." Garcia got her start in the fashion industry in the early '90s, working in the public relations department for Perry Ellis and its then-designer, Marc Jacobs. She then moved to Mirabella magazine as assistant stylist and market editor and ultimately found herself at Elle, moving up the ranks until she became fashion director in 2000.

    Michelle Kwan
    The most decorated figure skater in U.S. history, Michelle Kwan's skating brilliance and accomplishments have earned her a place among the all-time greats of the sport. For over a decade (1995-2005) Michelle dominated the sport like no other skater in history, winning an unprecedented 43 championships, including five World Championships, eight consecutive and nine overall U.S. National Championships and two Olympic medals. In the nearly 100-year history of figure skating, no American man or woman has won more world titles, national titles or Olympic medals.

    James Kyson Lee
    James can currently be seen as one of the stars on NBC's Golden Globe nominated hit drama "Heroes."On the show, James plays ' Ando Masahash.' In addition to "Heroes,"James will be starring in four feature films in 2007 & 2008, including, 20th Century Fox's "Shutter" with Joshua Jackson & Rachael Taylor, "Moola" with Treat Williams, Daniel Baldwin, & Charlotte Ross, "The Roel" with Shalim Ortiz & Ginuwine, and "Another Weekend" with Kendal Tuttle & Frank Hargreaves.

    Dave Navarro
    Dave Navarro became one of alternative music's first true guitar heroes as a member of Jane's Addiction and The Red Hot Chili Peppers. Dave is also the author of the LA Times bestseller "Don’t Try This At Home." In addition, Dave co-hosted ROCKSTAR: INXS and ROCKSTAR: SUPERNOVA with Brooke Burke. Dave and his band "The Panic Channel" released their album "One" in August of 2006. Dave recently started his own internet radio station, SPREAD RADIO LIVE and an internet television station that will launch May 17th.

    Tony Romo
    Tony Romo is a professional football player. He is currently the starting quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys. On October 23rd, 2006 in a game against the New York Giants, Tony solidified his status as the new starting quarterback for the Cowboys. Posting a 5-1 record in his first six games as a starter, Romo led the Cowboys into the postseason for the first time in three seasons and also earned himself a spot on the NFC Pro Bowl Roster.

    Dayanara Torres
    Since being crowned Miss Universe 1993, in Mexico City, Dayanara Torres has graced the covers of myriads of international magazines (Cosmopolitan, People en Espanol, Latina, Vanidades, Caras, Imagen, Asian Bride, and Marie Claire, among many others), has endorsed many products and has taken part in TV and print advertisements (Diet Coke, Pantene, Vidal Sassoon, RayBan, Banco Popular, Advil, her own doll and line of shoes, among others). Puerto Rican-born Torres is the proud mother of two and continues to work in various aspects of the entertainment industry as well as with various philanthropic organizations.

    Meet the panel of Miss Universe 2007 Beauty Pageant Preliminary Competition. They are the one who will judge all the 77 contestants that will determine the Top 15 delegates which will be announced during the live telecast.

    Fred HowardWith nearly a decade in the fashion industry, Fred has found inspiration in various facets of the industry. As a former model scout and manager for the world-renowned Elite Model Agency, Fred Howard has worked with some of the most recognized models in the world today: Gisele Bundchen, Adriana Lima and a host of others. As a stylist and casting coordinator he has lent his talents to such brands as Tommy Hilfiger, Giorgio Armani and J. Crew. A proud resident of Brooklyn, New York, he is currently an artist manager for models and actors.

    Adel Chabbi
    Celebrity hair stylist Adel Chabbi was born and raised in France. In his 23-year career he has worked with celebrities such as Alicia Silverstone, Lauren Hutton and Jessica Lange. Specializing in hair extensions, he has mastered the technique of creating a seamless finish and has become one of the most sought after stylists in Hollywood. His experience also includes TV appearances on "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy," the "Today Show," and "Extra."

    Dimitris Margetas
    Dimitris began his career at Procter & Gamble in Brussels as an environmental engineer, for plants in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. However, his affinity for Prestige Products and advertising soon led him to change careers. For the last six years, Dimitris has been in charge of Consumer Marketing for Proctor & Gamble’s Prestige Products Inc. He has worked on building luxury fragrance brands such as Gucci, Valentino, Dolce & Gabbana, Hugo Boss, Lacoste, Escada, Burberry and SKII.

    Justine Pasek
    Justine is no stranger to the Miss Universe Organization, as she was originally the 1st run-up in Miss Universe 2002 Beauty Contest, but later became the titleholder as Miss Russia, Oxana Fedorova was dethroned. Justine's subsequent modeling career has landed her in magazines such as en OceanDrive en Espanol, Vanidades, Cosmopolitan (Latin America), Islands Magazine, Marie Claire (Mexico),Vogue (Brasil), Hola (Espana), GQ (Italia), Caras (Argentina & Brasil), Enforma (Colombia) and US Weekly. Justine was also a spokesperson for Christian Dior, Latin America, and hosted E! Fashion Week, Latin America.

    Leigh Rossini
    Leigh Rossini is the in-house publicist for Louis Licari Salons. Working side by side with Louis Licari and his team in New York and Beverly Hills, Rossini is responsible for organizing every shoot for print and television. She recently landed the contract that put Licari on NBC’s Today Show and a blog on IVillage.

    Thuy Tran
    Thuy Tran is a talent agent representing fashion photographers and stylists in New York and Paris. She was born in Saigon and grew up in Honolulu, Hawaii. She currently works for the Michele Filomeno Agency and is director of Dactyl Foundation for the Arts and Humanities.

    The winner of Reinado Internacional del Cafe 2009 (International Queen of Coffee) Beauty Pageant is the 22 year old Miss Colombia, Alejandra Mesa Estrada. She stands 5'9" tall and was crowned by the last year's winner Jessica Jordan of Bolivia.

    The contest was held last January 10, 2009 at Manizales, Colombia where 23 official candidates have competed for the title.

    Bb. Pilipinas - Universe 1996, Aileen Leng Marfori Damiles
    She competed at the Miss Universe 1996 Pageant held at the Aladdin Theatre for the Performing Arts on the Las Vegas Strip, USA on May 17, 1996 where Aileen was awarded as the Miss Photogenic and ranked #18 in the preliminary competition with the average score of 8.770. Later she became a local actress and appeared in a few movies.

    Bb. Pilipinas - World 1996, Daisy Garcia Reyes
    Daisy competed in the Miss World 1996 Competition last Noveber 22, 1996 at Bangalore, India. She was awarded as Miss Personality. But before, she was considered as a "Pageant Veteran" as she had competed numerous contests before: Mod Cerinas de Manila winner, Eat Bulaga’s Beautiful Girl contestant, Miss Manila 2nd run-up, Mutya ng Pilipinas 1995 2nd run-up and Miss Expo-International 1995 4th run-up. Daisy also became a famous actress after her reign and tried out to have a singing career and had made one album.

    She represented the Philippines at Miss International 1996 and was one of the top 15 finalists. Yedda was a top fashion model in Cebu, City before. She is now happily married with Martin Romualdez, a lawyer in 1999.

    Bb. Pilipinas 1st run-up 1996, Maria Sovietskaya Laviano Bacud
    Sovietskaya is also a pageant veteran with the height of 5'5.5" tall and a graduate with a degree in mass communication in 1996. First, she is the winner of Eat Bulaga's She's Got the Look and Miss Metro Manila in the early 90's, semifinalist in Bb. Pilipinas 1994, semifinalist in Mutya ng Pilipinas 1994, 1st run-up in Queen of Clubs International 1994 and 1st run-up in Miss Intercontinental 1995 in Germany. Sovietskaya is now based in Paris as a runway model. Years ago, she was chosen as a model for Lancôme, a leading international manufacturer and marketer of perfume, cosmetic, and skin care products.

    Miss World 2008 Ksenia Sukhinova visits Vietnam for Charity

    As a Miss World 2008 titleholder, Ksenia Sukhinova of Russia is entitled to do a lot of charity work. And her first stop is an 18-day charity tour in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

    Ksenia is accompanied by Julia Morley, Chairwoman of the Miss World Organization and American-Vietnamese Hoang Kieu, the president of Antibody Antigen Supply Inc. (RAAS) group. In a press conference, the new Miss World expressed her happiness at being able to help disadvantaged people in Vietnam.

    She will be very busy during her visit, including handing over houses to the poor and joining some cultural events. Sukhinova will also visit Nha Trang, Hanoi, a few northern provinces, the central localities of Thua-Thien Hue, Quang Ngai and Da Nang, as well as the Mekong Delta provinces of Kien Giang, Tien Giang and Hau Giang. Her work is estimated to cost more than VND20 billion (US$1.16 million) and will close in HCMC.

    Miss Dominican Republic Universe 2009 Pageant or locally known as Miss Republica Dominicana Universo 2009 Beauty Pageant will be held on May 7, 2009 at Palacio de los Deportes, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. It will be broadcasted live Nationally by Dominican TV, Super Canal 33, Telemicro and Antena tv.

    Marianne Cruz Gonzales (top photo), the reigning Miss Dominican Republic Universe 2008 will crown her successor who will be the next to represent their country at the Miss Universe 2009 Contest.
