Niel Perez of Philippines won Mister International 2015

Mister International 2015 winner Philippines Mariano Niel Perez Flormata Jr.

A police officer from Tondo, Manila, became the first Filipino man to win the Mister International title in a event held in Ansan, South Korea.

Mariano Perez Flormata Jr., also known as Neil Perez of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Aviation and Security Group, became an online sensation soon after being announced as the winner.

Rabdu El Zein of Lebanon was named first runner-up, Tomas Dumbrovsky of Cazec Republic was the second runner-up. Rafal Maslak from Poland, considered by many “the one to beat”, ended the competition as 3rd runner-up, and rounding out the top 5 was Slovenia’s Mitja Nadizar, 4th runner-up.

Top 10 semi-finalists were Brazil – Matheus Martins, Japan – Masakazu Hashimoto, Korea – Youngho Park, Mexico – Alejandro Valencia, and Thailand – Vittawat Srikes.

The list of Top 15 quarter-finalists also had the names of Colombia – David Angel, Guam – Richard Johnson, Indonesia – Kevin Hendrawan, Myanmar – Aung Chan Mya, and Puerto Rico – Christian Ortíz.

Special awards winners were:

Most Stylish Award: Korea – Youngho Park
Mister Congeniality: Colombia – David Angel
Mister Photogenic: Japan – Masakazu Hashimoto
Best National Costume: China – Shi Yu Quan
People’s Choice Award: Poland – Rafał Maślak

Japan, Guam and Myanmar competed in Mister International for the first time.

In total, 29 young men competed for the title. Argentina, represented by Daniel Cajiao, withdrew due to personal reasons.

It was Mister International’s 9th edition, which was surrounded by controversy after the date being changed several times – fault of the Korean host – which caused the non-participation of around 20 contestants.
