INTERVIEW:

What environmental project will you create to promote the protection of Mother Earth and why?
The first one is to promote and create conscience in people who run big enterprises which pollute the air in order to make a change for future generations. And second is educating kids to be conscious on how important Mother Earth is in their lives, and that they need to take care of her.

What makes you proud of your country and what can you promote about it?
Guatemala makes me proud of their costumes, the colorful life, the traditions, the spoken languages and the multicultural diversity. The sceneries are magical. People are very friendly and it’s based on traditions. Guatemala is inhabited by Mayas. This year there is belief that is the beginning of a new era. The Mayans call it Baktun. This is based on a transcendental belief and the whole world is focusing directly on my country.

Describe your childhood/growing years:
I used to be a ballet student. I love outdoor activities. I started out in beauty pageants at the age of 8. I enrolled with the girl scouts in my community where we used to do cultural and environmental activities. I enjoyed reading. A soon as I stared middle school I enrolled in the cleaning and recycling committee.

What lessons did you learn from your childhood/growing years?
I learned values are very important. I learned to listen and take smart advices; I learned that you can learn a lot in reading, that everything has a moment and a place. I learned respecting older people for their wise advice. I learned that friendship means being truthful and not to hide in lies.

What is your most memorable moment?
On my 15th birthday, my whole family joined me and we celebrated together. Then by the end of the day everyone gave me advice about my upcoming years, which have been very useful for me.

What is your environmental advocacy and why did you choose it?
I support and encourage awareness of deforestation in every single person because not many know of this. I shall start the campaign gradually and increase in pace.

What tip can you share to promote sustainable energy for all?
To educate people to consume products that does not harm our environment. This could be done through schools and social media.
