INTERVIEW:

What environmental project will you create to promote the protection of Mother Earth and why?
My project is environmental education for children. Why? Because it is critically important and should start before school begins. Early environmental education experiences help shape children’s values, perspectives and understanding of the environment and how to interact with it. Yet many children have little or no meaningful exposure to environmental education or opportunities to connect with the natural world because they are involved with activities that isolate them from it.

What makes you proud of your country and what can you promote about it?
I am proud to represent Indonesia, the richest country. American has technological advances so we can call them a superpower, but the richest country is where I was born and where I am standing now, why? We have the largest gold mines, and with best quality of gold in the world. This country has the largest natural gas reserves in the world precisely at Natuna-kalimantan Timur, this country has the largest tropical forest in the world. This country has the world’s widest sea surrounded by two oceans: Indian and the Pacific and have millions of species of fish. This country has exotic scenery from the top of the mountain to the sea and has a unique culture. In Indonesia we can learn many things. How to promote my country? First, I need to be proud of my country, second, join an international cultural festival, third, using online media promotion, fourth, become a tourist ambassador. And also with Miss Earth I can promote Indonesia.

Describe your childhood/growing years:
I was born in a family full of love and affection. During my childhood, I was taught by my father to be a diligent, careful, humble and responsible. Not only that, my parents always taught me to be a woman who is polite and has manners. Since I was little my parents always spent holidays with nature and it was very influential in my life today.

What lessons did you learn from your childhood/growing years?
My parents always said there is nothing we can do if we don’t try. Be patient and God always blesses us in every step we do.

What is your most memorable moment?
When I first followed the story telling competitions and faced many people, I was feeling scared and nervous, but I always strive to control these feelings because my goal is to be able to know how to relay to a lot of people so that everyone can understand and know my story, and finally be successful at it.

What is your environmental advocacy and why did you choose it?
Green economy: change the behavior and increase the quality of the environment. Green economy to eliminate the negative impact of economic growth on the environment and natural resources scarcity and meet the needs of the present without compromising the needs of future generations.

What tip can you share to promote sustainable energy for all?
Turn off computers when they are not in use.
Turn off printers, especially laser printers, unless printing.
Don’t use power strips to turn on all computers and desk equipment at once.
When purchasing computers and peripherals, buy low wattage equipmen.
