Nuestra Belleza Mexico 2012 winner Cynthia Lizetthe Duque Garza

The annual Nuestra Belleza Mexico 2012 beauty pageant celebrating it's 19th anniversary was held last September 1 at the Poliforum del Centro de Convenciones, Tuxtla Gutierrez in Chiapas.

The event was hosted by Miss Universe 2010 Ximena Navarrete and Mexican celebrity Alan Tacher. It was locally broadcasted live by Televisa.

35 gorgeous young women participated for the national finals. The title was won eventually by 19 year old Cynthia Lizetthe Duque Garza from Monterrey representing Nuevo Leon. She was crowned by last year's winner, Karina Gonzalez.

Standing statuesque at 1.76m tall, Cynthia will represent the country in Miss Universe 2013 contest next year.

The "Suplente" or the 1st run-up was Lucero Montemayor. 2nd run-up was Karen Padilla. Finished as the 3rd run-up was Jacqueline Sauza. And finally, the 4th run-up position went to Jessica Amor.

Completing the top 10 semi-finalists were Gabriela Prieto, Natalia Serrano, Ana Karen Siorda, Chiara Leuzinger and Verenica Sanchez.

The delegate who reached the top 15 quarter finals were Jeraldine Gonzalez, Valeria Ruiz, Elisa Espinosa, Jasibi Suma and Karime Macias.

Winners of special awards were given to deserving candidates. Miss Top Model awarded to Veronica Sanchez. The most nicest and congenial went to Cynthia Duque. Miss Talent award went to Gabriela Prieto. The most physically active was Lucero Montemayor as she won Miss Sports title. Academic award was given to Marilyn Chagoya. Miss Personality Fraiche went to Cynthia Duque. And the title of Steps to Fame trophy went to Veronica Sanchez.

The pageant's tradition, the National Costume Competition where the event was judged not for the contestants, but for the costume itself. The winning costume designer receives the "Aguja Diamante Award", and for this year, it was won by "Amazona del Totonacapan".

A special recognition was also given that night. "Corona al Mérito 2012" was credited by Ximena Navarrete.
