Michael Kevin Holtz, raised in Naples, FL, has been swimming competitively since the age of six, and swimming for a cause for the last five years. In 2008, Michael was inspired to swim the English Channel, which led to the implementation of two of the first-ever, open-water, long-distance swims on both the East and West coasts to raise money for LGBT equality.
Not only an athlete, but also involved in band and other scholastic social clubs throughout middle and high school, Holtz has a well-rounded understanding of the skills it takes to make people believe in you and
want to follow you – a true leader and a true believer in his cause of equality for all. Holtz has had the fortune of volunteering and fundraising for organizations such as Equality California, The Stonewall Foundation and The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, and by doing so, building his fan base of people of all ages and sexual orientations.
As Holtz continues his work of building MKH2O Productions, elevating this concept to a nationwide series of open-water swim events to the organizations that are on the ground everyday battling for equality and acceptance for our community, the LGBT community will begin to have a new face of hope, that of an inspiring, young, gay male athlete who has accomplished much in a short amount of time.
Holtz is a graduate of Fordham University who currently resides in Los Angeles.
What are your hobbies?: Sports and the outdoors: swimming, running, hiking, surfing Meeting different people, traveling and experiencing new cultures! Family, friends
