Yara Liz Lasanta Santiago was crowned Miss Mundo de Puerto Rico 2010 on June 8 at the Alejandro Tapia y Rivera Theater in San Juan.
BIOGRAPHY
Yara works as a television host and owns a modelling school in her hometown. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and yearns to be recognised for her investigative reports. Yara enjoys going to the gym, reading and watching movies. Personal Motto: ‘No one will truly know how high they can fly until they dare to extend their wings’.

Favourite Music / Books ?
I like to listen to all types of music, except Metallic Rock. My favourite book is 'La Mujer habitada' written by Gioconda Belli.
What is the proudest moment of your life or most memorable day?
The day I graduated and obtained my Bachelor's Degree in Journalism. I will never forget this day. This was an important day for me becuase it was the day I reached one of my major goals in life, fulfilled a part of my personal and professional aspirations.
Describe yourself
I am a happy young lady, versatile, responsible, perseverant, disciplined and I enjoy helping others.
Favourite food ?
Rice and beans, steamed chicken, and ripe plantains cooked by my aunt.
Future ambitions ?
To become a lawyer.
Special Talents ?
Hosting events and dancing.

Puerto Rico is known as 'La Isla del Encanto' because of our tropical weather, natural resources and, above all, for our people's hospitality.

I like to eat ice cream.
