Mr. Mato Grosso, Thiago Silvestre wins Mister Gay Brazil 2009
Thiago Silvestre, Mister Mato Grosso wins the title of Mr. Gay Brazil 2009 in a male beauty pageant held at the Santo Agostinho Theater, in Sao Paulo. The 1st runner-up was Mr. Gay Ceara, followed by Mr. Gay Acre, the 2nd runner-up.
The new winner Thiago Silvestre will represent Brazil at the Mister Gay World 2009 to be held in Oslo, Norway.
One of the celebrity judges was Luciana Reis Bertolini, Miss World Brazil 2009. "I am very proud to be part of an event which promotes equality, respect to human rights and tolerance", she said. "It's time for the world to wake up and respect people for who they are, regardless of their sexual orientation, religious belief, or whatever other taboo created by man".
About the winner, Miss Brazil commented: "Thiago was my choice since the beginning. He is not only good looking, but very intelligent as well. I think he will be a great representative for our country".
