Miss Ghana 2009 Contestants

This year’s Miss Ghana 2009 Pageant has been dubbed as The Grand Event, National Dance Championship. It’s under theme, “Re-discovering Ghana’s true Beauty and Talent. The event is been organized by Media Whizz Kids who are the original Franchise holders of the event, who took over from Sparrows Production who had organized it since 2003. With the Franchise returning to Media Whizz Kids (MWK), one of the major changes with the event is the re-introduction of the 10 regional competitions. This was the format until the era of Sparrows Production where the country was divided into zones and audition were held to help selected the contestants for the Finals. Another Major Change to the Pageant this year is also the re- introduction of the Dance Segment. Affectionately known by names like the “Embassy Pleasure” and “Double,” the Dance has been re-introduced and this has got a lot of people excited.

The Dance Final is slated for September 19th and Beauty Contest Final is on September 26 where Frances Takyi-Mensah (photo above), Miss Ghana 2008 will take her final walk and crown her successor. The new winner will be the representative of Ghana at the Miss World 2009 Pageant in Johannesburg, South Africa on December.
