Miss Earth 2008 Preliminary Evening Gown Competition

The Evening Gown Competition was held also at PAGCOR Grand Theatre last November 4. And the one delegate that stood out was Miss Venezuela Daniela Torrealba winning one of the major awards of the pageant Best in Long Gown Award.

Miss Earth 2008 Pre-Pageant Awards

Miss Earth 2008 Beauty Pageant will be held in Pampanga, Philippines Amphitheater on November 9 where the reigning Miss Earth 2008 Jessica Nicole Trisco will crown her successor. The delegates are touring the country for the past few weeks and also they are competing at some major and mini-competitions.

The National Costume Competition was held last tuesday night at the PAGCOR Grand Theatre in Paranaque City. During that night, aside from the Best in National Costume Award, there are also some special awards given by the sponsors:

Miss Photogenic: Miss Philippines (Karla Paula G. Henry)
Miss Micu Confidence: Miss Greece (Ria Antoniou)
Joel Cruz Signature Award: Miss Greece (Ria Antoniou)

At a different date and location, the swimsuit competition was held. 20 delegates competed and the judges have picked their top 5 Best in Swimsuit:

Miss Netherlands (Melanie de Laat)
Miss Brazil (Tatiane Alves)
Miss Mexico (Abigaíl Elizalde)

And finally narrowed down to the final winner. Another special award was also given:

Miss Fontana: Miss Philippines (Karla Paula G. Henry)

Reina Hispanoamericana 2008 Crowning

Candidates from 20 countries have been in Bolivia competing for the title of Reina Hispanoamericana 2008 for the last 10 days. The delegates competed a few preliminary events and visits to some tourist attractions of Santa Cruz.

Finally the moment of truth arrives. Miss Mexico, Laura Zuniga, a 23 year-old native of Culiacan and stands tall at 174cm. was crowned the 2008 Reina Hispanoamericana title. Laura is a finalist at the Nuestra Belleza Mexico 2008.

The 1st run-up title was given to Miss Paraguay, Gabriela Rejala. She is from Nemby, 19 years of age and stands 172cm. tall. She also recieves a special award of Chica Aerosur.

Chosen as the 2nd run-up was Miss Uruguay, Paula Andrea Díaz. She is 19 years old from Montevideo and stands tall at 177cm.

3rd run-up title was given to the 21 year old native of Cochabamba, Miss Bolivia, Dominique Peltier. She is 21 years old and stands statuesque at 180cm. tall.

4th run-up to the title was Miss Venezuela, Ligia Hernandez. A 23 years old from Maracay and stands 178cm. tall. Ligia was one of the semi-finalists at the Miss Venezuela 2008 beauty pageant. Aside from the 4th run-up title, she also recieves the Miss Photogenic and Miss Elegance Special Awards.

Miss Peru, Annmarie Dehainaut was chosen as the 5th run-up. She is from Lima, 18 years old and stands at 175cm. tall.

Another special award was given to the 19 year old Miss Cuba, Dayami Padron. She recieves the Most Beautiful Face Award.

Miss Mexico, Laura Zuniga was crowned by the reigning Reina Hispanoamericana, Masiel Tavares from the Dominican Republic. Masiel dreams to become a successful actress in the future. She also represented her country at the Miss Universe 2007 Beauty Contest.

New Miss Globe International 2008 was Crowned

Beating out 56 other lovely contestants, Miss Albania, Almeida Abazi (center) won the Miss Globe International 2008 Beauty Pageant that's also being held in her home country for the past five years. She was 17 years of age and stands 174cm tall with brown hair and eyes. Almeida's lively hobbies dancing, music, singing and diving and her ambition in life to perform on tv drives her to be the first albanian to bring home the coveted Miss Globe International crown.

The first runner-up title was given to Miss Estonia, Breth Tootsi. This blond hair, blue eyed girl wants to become a designer someday. Breth is 18 years-old and stands 175cm. tall with the vital statistics of 92-62-88 (cm).

Standing at 175cm. tall, the 19 year old brown hair, blue eyed Miss Russia, Anastasia Tolmatcheva recieves the 2nd runner-up title to the Miss Globe International 2008 Beauty Contest. Anastasia loves to dance and got a special talent in kniting.

Angelika Santillan wins Amazing Philippine Beauties 2008

Angelika Santillan (candidate #25), the 27 year old beauty wins the Amazing Philippine Beauties 2008. A pageant for transexuals, crossdressers, or homosexuals. Angelika will be competing and representing her country at the 2008 Miss International Queen in Thailand where the current winner Tanyarat Jirapatpakon will relinquish her crown.

Candidate #17, the 19 year old Rosa Garcia landed as the 1st runner-up. 24 lovely contestants vie for the most prestigious gay beauty pageant in the Philipines. Last year's winner Rianne Barrameda crowned her successor.

Miss Colombia wins Miss Intercontinental 2008

The 23 year old Miss Colombia Cristina Camargo wins the 2008 Miss Intercontinental Beauty Contest held in Zabrze, Poland where 60 delegates all over the world competed for the title. The 1st runner-up title was given to Miss Poland, Milena Lutrzykowska while the 2nd runner-up was Yakovina Lubov, Miss Belarus.

Delegates from Venezuela and Czech Republic was the other 2 finalists. Candidates who made it to the top 15 semi-finals were Misses Georgia, Mexico, Brazil, Serbia, South Africa, Canada, Scotland, Korea, Seychelles Islands, Ukraine respectively.

Special awards was also given to the deserving delegates:

Best National Costume - Georgia
Best Body - Czech Republic
Miss Photogenic - Ukraine

A Model was Crowned Miss Japan 2009

At a beauty pageant held at Kyoto International Conference Hall in Kyoto, 41 lovely contestants competed to vie for the title of Miss Japan 2009. Crowned as the winner is Yuka Nakayama, an 18 year old model from Fukuoka. She will represent her country at the 2009 Miss International Pageant.

The Miss World Japan 2009 title was given to the 20 year old Eruza Sasaki. She will be competing for Miss World 2009 Contest.

Also present in the event was the 62 delegates of Miss International 2008 Beauty Contest. Together with the reigning Miss International 2007 Priscilla Perales, the candidates sing the traditional song of the contest since 1971 called "Such a Beautiful World".

Mayra Matos Perez is Miss Puerto Rico Universe 2009

Miss Cabo Rojo, Mayra Matos Perez won the Miss Puerto Rico Universe 2009 Beauty Pageant held in San Juan and which is broadcasted in a live television. Mayra is 20 years of age and stands tall at 1.80m. She will be representing her country at the Miss Universe 2009 Beauty Contest.

The new beauty queen was crowned by the last year's Miss Puerto Rico Universe Ingrid Marie Rivera. Also present at the event was the current Miss Universe 2008 Dayana Mendoza and Miss USA 2008 Crystle Stewart.

Runners-up title were given to:
1st run-up - Miss San Juan
2nd run-up - Miss Santurce
3rd run-up - Miss Adjuntas
4th run-up - Miss Catano

The producer of Amazing Philippine Theatre’s Amazing Show, The Center for Philippine Arts & Cultural Entertainment Association Inc. It is the first and biggest theatrical variety show in the Philippines which caters to an array of audiences, young and old, as a wholesome family entertainment show.

Tshokey Tshomo Karchung is the 1st Miss Bhutan

Crowned as the very first ever Miss Bhutan is Tshokey Tshomo Karchung, a 24 year-old stunner who also happens to be Miss Talented and Miss Photogenic awardee as well. As the winner of Miss Bhutan 2008 Beauty Pageant, Tshokey will recieve a cash prize of Nu 0.1 million.

“I kept every confidence to compete and I am so relieved,” said Tshokey Tshomo as she beated out fifteen other lovely candidates. She was crowned by Miss Thailand 2006 Charm Reya Osthanond, one of the five judges.

Tshokey will travel to Pampanga, Philippines to represent her country and compete to more than 80 contestants worldwide at the 2008 Miss Earth Beauty Contest on November.

Ying Kun Zhou China's Bet to Miss Earth

Ying Kun Zhou, a 22 year old stunner from Shandong Province was named to be the representative of China at this year's edition of Miss Earth Beauty Pageant to be held in Pampanga, Philippines.

The new Miss Earth China 2008 stands 182m. tall and she was just crowned last weekend. Also present in the event was the reigning Miss Earth 2007 Jessica Nicole Trisco of Canada.

Nok Nora Duany is Miss South Sudan 2008

South Sudan will be joining the Miss Earth 2008 Beauty Pageant for the first time this year. And they will send the 2008 Miss South Sudan Nok Nora Duany, who is a model standing at 1.81m tall.

Nok Nora will compete at Miss Earth 2008 Contest at Pampanga, Philippines on October with more than 80 lovely candidates buying for the coveted crown.

Crystle Stewart Fashion Make-Over

Crystle Danae Stewart won Miss Texas USA 2008 title in a state pageant held in Laredo, Texas on July 1, 2007, after competing against 21 other contestants. She represented Texas in the Miss USA 2008 beauty contest held in April. This was Stewart's fifth attempt at the Miss Texas USA title, as she had placed first runner-up in both 2006 and 2007 pageant, third runner-up in 2005 and placed in the semi-finals in 2003. Crystle is the second African American to win the crown Miss USA Crown.

Stewart represented USA at the Miss Universe 2008 Beauty Pageant held in Vietnam. She placed in the top 10 Semi-finals.
