Denise Garrido was crowned Miss World Canada 2010 held at the Chandos Pattison Auditorium in Surrey on May 7. She also competed in Miss Latin America in the World 2009 and placed as 3rd run-up. She also won the title of Miss Canada Earth 2008 and compete at the Miss Earth 2008 beauty pageant.

BIOGRAPHY
Denise has a degree in Biomedical Sciences and is currently working as a Medical Receptionist. Hobbies; Tae Kwon-Do, Swimming, Running and Playing the Piano. Personal Motto: ‘Aim high in life, strive for excellence, because you will feel more proud that you gave it your all, and you will end up still successful’.

Music - Instrumental, Opera, Pop & Rock. Books - Inspirational / motivational books.

What is the proudest moment of your life or most memorable day?
Because I began saving towards University since I was a child, my proudest moment was being able to graduate University Cum Laude while working on my own and paying my way through.

Describe yourself
I am soft-hearted, kind and a big dreamer. I am driven and focused, always setting goals and striving to accomplish them.

Favourite food ?
Broccoli and spicy foods.

Do you have any pets ?
Yes, one cat.

Future ambitions ?
To go to medical school and make a great impact in the world.

Special Talents ?
Speed painting, I am second degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, and half marathon runner.

Tell us a little something about your Country ?
Canada is the most multicultural country in the world. My hometown Bradford is known as the heart of Canada's vegetable industry.

Any other interesting facts ?
I am fluent in English, Portuguese, conversational in Spanish and understand basic French.
