Venezuela's bet to Miss Earth 2008

Born in San Cristobal, Tachira, Venezuela, the 19 year old Maria Daniela Torrealba Pacheco was crowned Sambil Model or Miss Earth Venezuela 2008. Standing at 5'8 1/2 inches tall, besides being a Psychology student, Maria Daniela is also a beauty pageant veteran. She was 1st runner-up in Miss Tachira 2006 and also Miss Trujillo in Miss Venezuela 2006. And now, she will represent and travel to the Philippines to compete for the 2008 Miss Earth Beauty Contest.

Declared as Sambil Model Miss Continente Americano Venezuela 2008 is Andrea Matthies, she will compete at Miss Continente Americano 2008 title later this year. Completing the top 5 finalists are Osmariel Villalobos, María Laura Verde and Rosa Elena Zambrano.

Jennifer Chiong wins Miss Guatemala Universo 2008

24 years of age, Jennifer Chiong (photo) was crowned Miss Guatemala Universo (Universe) 2008 in a beauty contest held at the Camino Real Hotel Convention Center in Guatemala City where seven beautiful contestants competed for the title.

Jennifer, who holds a degree in Communications and is actually studying English, stands 1.78 m tall and will represent Guatemala at the Miss Universe 2008 beauty pageant in Nha Trang, Vietman.

University Student wins Miss Zambia 2008

A student from the University of Zambia was crowned as the 2008 Miss Zambia, Winfridah Mofu (photo) beating out 15 other hopefuls in a beauty pageant held at Livingstone’s Zambezi Sun Hotel.

Winfridah is in her fourth and last year of library and information studies and economics, a double major, said her victory was a gift from God because all the contestants had been excellent in their performance.

Winfridah was followed by Musunga Sue Chuzu as first princess and Sekwila Mumba as second princess. She said she had won other crowns before such as Miss Unza 2005, Miss Intercontinental 2007 first princess and represented Zambia at the top model beauty contest held in Egypt last January.

The new Zambian beauty queen's hobbies include reading, dancing, singing and travelling, said each contest she had taken part in, contributed greatly to her current status and achievement and made her go as far she had gone.

She is expecting to represent Zambia in Miss Universe beauty pageant in Vietnam or in Miss World beauty contest in Ukraine.

Mister Morocco wins Manhunt International 2008

The 26 years old native of Morocco, Abdelmoumen El Maghraouy (center) was elected as the new Manhunt International 2008 in a contest held in Seoul, Korea. Sweden's Egill Arnljots (photo, 2nd left) a 21 year old was the 1st runner-up. 2nd runner-up was got by the 25 year old Mister Costa Rica Cesar Vargas (photo, 2nd left). 22 year old Lee Jae-Hwan (photo, 1st left), from Korea declared as the 3rd runner-up. And Manhunt Angola, Claudio Furtado (photo, 1st right), was the 4th runner-up.

The semi-finalists were the candidates from China, Yang Yao (6th place), India, Romeo Gates (7th place), Brazil, Thiago Testoni (8th place), Hong Kong, Mingo Lin (9th place), United States, Brandon Michael Anderson (10th place), England, Sam Whitman (11th place), Panama, Anthony Warren (12th place), Luxembourg, Koen Van de Voorde (13th place), Venezuela, Orlando Delgado (14th place), and Philippines, Marvin Wijangco (15th place).

Abdelmoumen is a Teleoperator from Rabat who stands 1.90 m tall. He is the first Moroccan to win a Grand Slam title, male or female.

Tanja Vujicic is Miss Bosnia and Herzegovina 2008

Tanja Vujicic from Nevesinje was crowned as the new Miss Bosnia and Herzegovina 2008 in a beauty pageant held at Sarajevo. She will then be the representative of her country at the upcoming Miss World beauty contest later this year at Kiev, Ukraine.

Inaida Ibrahimovic of Sarajevo and Sanela Koprena of Banja Luka are the first and second runners-up respectively.

Miss Puerto Rico International was Crowned

Handpicked by Creative Options, Inc., the company that owns the Puerto Rican franchise for Miss International, Miriam Pabon Carrio (in photo) will be the representative of Puerto Rico and will travel to Tokyo, Japan and in Macao, China to compete for Miss International Beauty Pageant later this year.

Miriam is a professional model, actress and acting instructor. She was Miss Puerto Rico Latina 2002. Earlier this year, she placed fourth in Miss World Puerto Rico 2008 beauty contest and was a co-winner of the Miss Critical Beauty World Puerto Rico 2008 award.

Italy's bet to Miss Universe 2008

An evening full of emotion for the delegates, from 24, then became the first 12, then 6 and finally decide between the two disputes competing for the title of Miss Universe Italy. All smiling and nervous until the crowning. Then, the 19-year old Claudia Ferraris of Bergamo who stands 175 cm tall won the Miss Italy Universe beauty pageant 2008 last night held at Riccione.

Claudia is a first year student of Economy and Commerce. The new beauty queen will travel to Vietnam to represent her country at the 2008 Miss Universe Beauty Pageant this July.

Beautiful Blonde is Miss Netherlands 2008

Standing at 5 feet 11 incehes tall, the 22 year old blonde and beautiful Charlotte Labee (center) was the new Miss Netherlands 2008 in a beauty pageant held at Hague last May 31st. She will represent her country at the Miss Universe 2008 beauty contest later this July to be held in Vietnam. Declared as the 1st runner-up is Jelena Petrova (left), while the 2nd runner-up was Milou Verhoeks (right).

Beauties from Iceland was Crowned

May 30, 2008 - 18 year old Alexandra Helga Ivarsdottir representing Reykjavik was crowned the new Ungfru Island or Miss Iceland 2008. While the first runner-up is Ingibjorg Ragnheiour Egilsdottir, a 23 year old native from Austfiroingur. And declared as the second runner-up is Sonja Björk Jonsdottir from Svarfaoardal who is also an 18 year old stunner.

Alexandra Helga will represent Iceland in Miss World 2008 beauty pageant to be held next December in Johannesburg, South Africa. While First Runner-Up, Ingibjorg Ragnheiour will compete in Miss Universe 2008 beauty contest in July to be held in Nha Trang, Vietnam.

Levy Li Su Lin is Miss Malaysia Universe 2008

Beating 13 other candidates, Levy Li Su Lin, a 20 year old part time model from Terengganu and a University student of Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman was crowned as Miss Malaysia Universe 2008 held at The Gardens Hotel, Mid Valley.

Levy's interpretation of the pageant's theme “Real women behind the beauty” won her rapturous applause.

“Beauty must come in a whole package and it is just as its letters suggest – B, brain; E, elegance, A, attitude, U, unique, T, tall that means standing tall and be confident, and Y, yourself,” the beauty queen said.

Levy will travel and represent her country at the Miss Universe beauty pageant to be held in Nha Trang, Vietnam later this year.

Jean Thor Jean Nee, 23, from Federal Territory, and Valerie Chan Hsueh Yi, 23, from Sarawak, won the first and second runners-up titles, respectively.

Miss Tanzania 2008 is Amanda Sululu

Crowned as Miss Tanzania Universe last May 29, the stunning Amanda Sululu will be the representative of Tanzania at the Miss Universe Beauty Pageant on July 14 at Vietnam where more than 80 contestants all over the world will compete for the title.

Miss Tanzania Beauty Contest's runners-up were Jamila Nyanga and Eva Babuely repectively.

Thuy Lam is Miss Vietnam 2008

Nguyen Thuy Trang also known as Thuy Lam (in photo) was crowned as the 2008 Miss Vietnam Universe in a beauty contest held last May 31st at Nha Trang’s Vinpearl Land resort. Along with a US$12,000 crown, she also won VND100 million ($6,060) and a $2,000 scholarship to study English. Thuy also won the titles - Miss Talent, Miss Vote and Miss Best Interview awards.

Lam used to live in Germany and is fluent in both English and German. Lam and first runner up Vo Hoang Yen and second runner up Duong Truong Thien Ly outperformed 17 other women at the beauty contest.

A popular singer who has also become known as a TV actress, the 1.70m tall beauty queen will represent Vietnam and be the host contestant at the Miss Universe 2008 beauty pageant on July.

“Tonight is the most unforgettable night of my life,” said Lam in her victory speech. “All of my counterparts are wonderful and I am proud of our efforts. I would like to extend my gratitude to my family and all my Vietnamese friends, whose support gave me the confidence to be the winner tonight as well as the encouragement to fulfill my dreams at the international level,” said Lam. "I will try my best at Miss Universe”.

Edita Kresakova crowned as the new Miss Slovakia 2008

A 19 year old hight school student, a volleyball player and a professional model, Edita Kresakova (picture) beat the other 11 finalists of Miss World Slovakia 2008 beauty pageant. She also grabbed other titles as well: Miss Internet, Miss Press and Miss Photogenic. After the graduation exam at high school she wants to study economics at the university.

Edita has been modeling since her 14, she has visited countries like Malaysia, Japan, France, Italy or Germany. In 2003 she won the international model contest - Metropolitan Top Model. She captures the attention with her height of 181 cm tall. She is the tallest Miss Slovakia ever. In fashion industry her rolemodel is a famous Slovak model Adriana Sklenarikova-Karembeau.

She will represent Slovak Republic at Miss World 2008 beauty contest in Johannesburg, South Africa this December.

Iana Varnacova is the 2008 Miss Moldova

Iana Varnacova (in picture) was crowned Miss Moldova 2008 at a beauty pageant held at the Hotel Leogrand where 20 candidates competed. Iana is a 19 year old native of Moldova's capital city, Chisinau. She stands 1.80m tall and will travel to Ukraine to represent her country at the Miss World 2008 Beauty Pageant to be held in Kiev, Ukraine.

A Professional Model is Scotland's bet to Miss World 2008

Stephanie Willemse, a 19 year old a professional model from Glasgow, was crowned Miss Scotland 2008 at a beauty pageant held at the Princess Square last Monday night. She stands at 1.75 m. tall and she will represent Scotland in Miss World 2008 beauty contest in Johannesburg, South Africa this coming December.

Miss Greece 2008 Beauties was Crowned!

A 22 year old student from Athens was crowned as Star Hellas 2008. Her name was Dionisia Koukiou (in photo). Dionisia is standing at 1.78m tall and she will represent Greece at the Miss Universe 2008 Beauty Pageant in Nha Trang, Vietnam on July 14th.

Representing their country at the Miss International beauty contest this year is the 1st runner-up Ria Antoniou. She will be travelling to Macau for the competition.

Crowned as Miss Hellas 2008 was Angeliki Kalaitzi, who will compete at the Miss World 2008 beauty contest and will travel to Ukraine next October. Her 1st runner-up was Sofia Roditi.

Miss Fire is on Fire!

Former Venezuelan beauty queen Marianne Puglia's attitude is on fire. Running in public, particularly at a football field wearing only two-piece bikini, Marianne together with a girl friend was arrested for exhibitionist in Italy.

Marianne Pasqualina Puglia Martínez is a model and Miss Earth Venezuela 2006. She represented Venezuela in Miss Earth 2006 Beauty Pageant held in the Philippines where she was crowned Miss Earth-Fire (3rd runner-up). The pageant was won by Chilean Hil Hernandez. Her predecessor, Alexandra Braun Waldeck won Miss Earth 2005.

Egyptian Beauty Queen won a Special Pageant

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Miss Egypt Universe Beauty Pageant, the 2008 edition is scheduled to be held on december. But the Miss Egypt Organization must choose their representative for Miss Universe Competition to be held on July 14 at Vietnam

So a special beauty contest was held last night in Cairo and among 12 contestants who were all runners-up in the last three editions of the pageant competed. And the 20 year old Yara Naoum (in photo), who was last year's 2nd runner-up, was crowned the new Miss Egypt Universe 2008.

Yara stands 176cm. tall, is a senior student at the Higher Institue of Cinema in Cairo, and has already starred in a major film production last year. She is also a part-time model.
