Miss World Beauties Unite at Cannes 2008

The reigning and former Miss World titleholders all at the 61st Annual Cannes Film Festival event in South France.

(left) The reigning Miss World 2007, Zi Lin Zhang from the People's Republic of China. She is the first Miss World of East Asian origin.

(middle) Tatana Kucharova from the Czech Republic. Tatana won the title of Miss World 2006. In doing so, she became the first woman from the Czech Republic to win the title at the final event of the Miss World competition, held on September 30, 2006, in Warsaw, Poland.

(right) Miss World 1994, Aishwarya Rai from India. Aish is an internationally renowned Indian actress. Before starting her acting career, she worked as a model, and gained fame after winning the Miss World beauty pageant in 1994. She also often acclaimed as the most beautiful woman in the world.

I find it very tacky that she did not cancel this public appearance. After all Cannes is not a social interest venue but one big party. She should've cancelled and made a public statement in support of her country asking for international cooperation for China.

Zilin has appeared in New Zealand, Trinidad and Tobago and London and has raised support for the earthquake victims as well as supporting charitable causes in those counries. Zilin did not work during the official mourning period.
Zilin appeared at Cannes to fulfil an exising contract and did not attend any parties, She only appeared at Cannes for 6 hours en route to Beijing from London and donated all gifts she received from the visit to support the victims.
Zilin is involved in many special activities in support of the earthquake victims including a visit to the earthquake region,and appearing at charity events in Xiamen (29th May), Xian and Shenzhen (2nd June) in support of the victims of the earthquake.
Zilin will also be in Chengdu on the 31 st May to present special awards to the kids from Sichun (Dragon TV) and visit the injured children in hospital.
