Yvette Nsiah is Miss Ghana Universe 2008
Daisy Asare Akoto, a student and Joyce Akagbo, a third year student at the Ghana Institute of Journalism, was declared as the 1st and 2nd runners-up respectively.
The beauty pageant was judged by Emma Moisan, Dennis Nii Dodoo Smith, Gerad Boakye, Pearl Amoah (Miss Universe Ghana 1996 & Fashion Designer), and Ronke Nedd. All delegates were dressed in clothing by the Royal Dennis design label and styled by Sleek Cosmetics.
"After weeks of scouting, we are excited to present a remarkable Ghanaian woman, who we are confident, will make a poignant statement for Ghana at the international event. We are looking forward to a strong presence at the Miss Universe Pageant, and commend the judges for selecting a young woman who is indeed the quintessence of Ghanaian femininity" stated by the producers of the Miss Universe Ghana beauty pageant after crowning.
Yvette Nsiah will be representing Ghana at the 2008 Miss Universe Beauty Pageant in Nha Trang, Vietnam on July 14. She will join the ranks of other remarkable young women around the globe who have the honour and responsibility of being ambassadors of their respective countries to this international event. Yvette was excited by her victory and has promised to make an impressive showing at the Miss Universe Beauty Pageant.

HOW DID SHE GET TO REPRESENT GHANA AT MISS UNIVERSE 2008 ? DOES SHE NOT HAVE TO LIVE IN GHANA TO REPRESENT GHANA SHE LIVE IN THE USA!!!!! & SHE WAS FLOWN TO GHANA TO TAKE PART IN CONTEST SHE ALREADY KNEW SHE WOULD WIN . SHAME ON THE ORGANISERS
r u sure? is she not just studying outside of GH? her parents still live in GH no? n who says you should reside in ghana to win? is it not proven that once outside your country you become more nationalistic and get a better view/understanding on your own country...so its only beneficial for Ghana that she has abroad experience! and how do you know the organizers already wanted her to win? then why spend all the money to fly her over? get your facts! dont just point accusing fingers because perhaps you wanted somebody else to win! i think she will do an AMAZING job and am looking forward to the miss universe pageant! I don't know the specific rules governing the Miss Universe Ghana pageant. However, as a general rule for most National pageants, the delegate only needs to be a citizen of the country she wishes to represent. Growing up in or living in the coutnry at the time of participation is not a requirement in most cases.
she supposedly was born in the US, moved to Ghana when she was 9, and only came back to the US for college.
