Maria Jose Alvarado wins Senorita Honduras 2014

18 year old Maria Jose Alvarado from Copan was crowned as the new Señorita Honduras 2014 held at the Expocentro in San Pedro Sula where 20 finalists competed for the title.

Standing 1.68m tall, Maria Jose will represent Honduras in Miss World 2014 pageant this November.

Finished as the 1st run-up was Paula Sarras, while the 2nd run-up was Esthefany Perdomo.

Meanwhile, on the same event, Monica Brocatto was presented as the new Senorita Honduras Internacional 2014. She will compete in Miss International 2014 later this year.

Alice Ford won Miss Wales 2014

The Princess Royal Theatre in the city of Port Talbot served as host to Miss Wales 2014, and the winner was the very tall Alice Ford, who had been a runner-up in previous editions of the pageant.

Sadie Mltby placed 2nd and Nadia Sulliman was 3rd.

21 year old Alice will be the official representative of Wales in Miss World 2014 pageant on November.

Arielle Garciano is Miss World New Zealand 2014

22 year old Arielle Diane Garciano is the newly-crowned Miss World New Zealand 2014 after wowing judges with her stunning looks and outstanding efforts to raise money for a little girl from the Philippines who needed lifesaving facial surgery.

The Christchurch contestant towered over a field of 15 to land the coveted title of most beautiful women in the land at the final day of competition at Auckland’s Rendezvous Grand Hotel tonight.

“She’s a very popular winner,” said pageant organiser Desmond Foulger.

Foulger said as part of the show’s ‘beauty with a mission’ directive all contestants spent time organising charity fundraising events.

This year a young girl from the Philippines was flown to New Zealand to undergo lifesaving surgery to repair a severe birth defect.

The operational was successful and she was now recovering with family in Wellington.

Foulger said the Kiwi-born beauty had spent countless hours in the earthquake ravaged city doing sausage sizzles and fashion shows to raise money for the sick little girl.

Garciano would travel to London later this year to represent New Zealand in Miss World 2014.

Miss Latina Universe Announced

The Reigning Miss Universe 2013 Gabriela Isler, from Venezuela, was one of many celebrities walking the red carpet at the annual Latin Billboard Awards held in Miami on April 24th. The event, televised by Telemundo (affiliate of NBC/Universal) recognizes the contribution of latino artists to the international scene.

During the ceremony, Isler confirmed the realization of “Miss Latina Universe”: A new reality-type beauty pageant to be presented by Telemundo, and whose winner will represent the Latino community in the 2014 Miss Universe pageant.

The project, originally called “Miss Latina USA” was renamed to “Miss Latina Universe” to allow the participation of contestants from all over the American Continent and Spain, who will wear the “Latina Universe” sash at the Miss Universe pageant. It is the first time that such a special participation will be allowed.

Telemundo will soon confirm the dates of airing of the reality-show, expected to take place during the late summer. The Miss Universe Organization has not announced yet the date and host country of the 2014 edition. This information might be made public during the Miss USA 2014 telecast to take place in Baton Rouge on June 8th.

Laura Longauerova wins Miss Slovakia 2014

18 year old Laura Longauerova from Detva won the Miss Slovakia 2014 title in an event held in the capital city of Bratislava.

Laura will represent Slovakia in Miss World 2014 pageant on November.

First princess was Lucia Semankova, who will compete in Miss International 2014, while the second princess was Michaela Nguyenova.

Agnes Cheba Abe is Miss Guinea Equatorial 2014

Agnes Genoveva Cheba Abe was crowned Miss Guinea Ecuatorial 2014 held at the Sofitel Malabo Sipopo Le Golf Hotel on April 19. She will represent Equatorial Guinea in Miss World 2014 on November in London, England.

Maria Dolores Angué was the first runner-up and Sandra Esono Obono was the second runner-up.

Alexandra Caruntu crowned Miss Moldova 2014

17 year old Alexandra Caruntu from Ungheni won the title of Miss Moldova 2014 at the Leogrand Hotel and Convention Center in Chișinău last April 15.

Standing 1.75m tall, Alexandra will represent Moldova in Miss World 2014, in November.

Mr. World Francisco Escobar Launched Foundation in Colombia

The current Mr. World Francisco Escobar was recently in his hometown of Cali, launching his “Path of Champions” foundation helping under privileged children in the region with the power of sport.

The weekend began with an early morning press conference in the capital of Bogata, with Francisco joined by Miss & Mr World CEO Julia Morley and Miss World Megan Young. During this conference Francisco outlined the aims of his project and the success he has had in his time as Mr World.

In the afternoon, the team travelled on to Cali for the inaugural benefit show to launch the ‘Path of Champions Foundation’. A fundraiser held at Francisco’s old school the benefit gig raised money to help keep the youth of the region on the right track, and funnel their energies into positive channels, away from dangerous activities and lifestyles.

“I was born there and so I know the problems of my city and my country, but we are much more than that, much more than poverty, much more than drug trafficking,” Said Francisco when talking about the aims of his project.

He continued, reaffirming that the main goal of the project was to promote the proper use of leisure time of children living in the District of Aguablanca Cali.

Aniska Tonge wins Miss US Paradise World 2014

23 year old Aniska Tonge from Saint Thomas was crowned Miss US Paradise World 2014 at the St. Croix Educational Complex Auditorium in Frederiksted last April 6.

Anisa is a Psychology Graduate of the University of South Florida, minoring in Women and Gender Studies. She is also the founder and CEO of the 4Her foundation, a non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting the positive progression of young women socially, professionally and personally.

Tonge will be the official representative of US Virgin Islands in the upcoming Miss World 2014 pageant in London, England.

Wahiba Arres crowned Miss Tunisie 2014

20 year old Wahiba Arres is the winner of Miss Tunisie 2014 contest which took place at the Palais des Congrès in Tunis last April 5. She will represent Tunisia in Miss World 2014 pageant in London, England later this year.

Emna Dhib was the first runner-up and Intissar Kharrez was the second runner-up.

Tunisia returned to the Miss World contest in 2013, after 35 years without competing. Its best result in the pageant is a fourth place back in 1957, with Jacqueline Tapia.

Jimena Espinoza Vecco wins Miss Peru Universo 2014

24 year old Jimena Rumini Espinoza Vecco, a television model from Lima was crowned Miss Peru Universe 2014 during the annual event held at the Parque de la Amistad in Surco on Saturday, April 12th.

Jimena stands an impressive 1.83 m in height. She will compete for the Miss Universe 2014 crown in December.

The 1st runner-up was Ximena Montenegro, Miss Lambayeque and Sofia del Pinho was the second runner-up.

Miss Universe Hrvatske 2014 is Ivana Misura

24 year old Ivana Misura from Zagreb was crowned Miss Universe Hrvatske 2014 during the annual event held on Friday, April 11th at the Marina Cvetkovica Sports Complex in Opatija.

Standing 1.70m. tall, Ivana will represent Croatia in the Miss Universe 2014 pageant in December.

Meri Bencic and Andrea Generalic finished as 1st and 2nd runners-up respectively.

Raiza Soriano is Miss Panama Mundo 2014

20 year old Raiza Patricia Erlenbaugh Soriano was crowned Miss Panama Mundo (World) 2014 during the annual event held at the Barcelona Hall of the RIU Hotel in Panama City on April 8.

Standing 1.79 m in height, Raiza -who speaks Spanish, English and Frenc, will represent Panama in the Miss World 2014 pageant to be held in London, United Kingdom, in November.

The contest was British-themed, as a tribute to the city of London which will host the Miss World pageant. To the sounds of the Spice Girls, Adele, among others, the 24 contestants competed in the categories of swimsuits and evening gowns. A special panel of former beauty queens, called the “misses council” was in charge of assisting the jury to select the winner.

17 semi-finalists were chosen in this event, out of the 24 contestants. After the announcement of Raiza Erlenbaugh as Miss Panama World, the remaining 16 will compete for the crown of Miss Panama Universe 2014 to be held on June 12th.

Koyal Rana crowned fbb Femina Miss India 2014

21-year old Koyal Rana from New Delhi was crowned fbb Femina Miss India 2014 at the conclusion of the annual event. She was crowned by the reigning Miss World 2013 Megan Young from the Philippines.

Standing 174cm tall, Koyal is a student at Delhi University, Koyal and she will be the official representative of India in the 2014 Miss World competition in London (England) in November. She also won the Femina “Beauty with a Purpose” Award.

The 1st and 2nd runners-up were Jhataleka Malhotra and Gail Nicole Da Silva.

Megan Young and Miss World CEO Julia Morley were guests of honor at the Gala.

The top 10 finalists were Simran Khandelwal, Amarjot Kaur, Nikhila Nandgopal, Ashwati Ramesh, Lopamudra Raut, Gail Da’Silva, Koyal Rana, Jantee Hazarika, Jhataleka Malhotra, Irshikaa Mehrotra.

The army of judges included personalities like Actor Vidyut Jamwal, Aditi Rao Hydari, Malaika Arora Khan, Abhay Deol, Jacqueline Fernandez, Ace Fashion Designer Manish Malhotra, Singing sensation Honey Singh, Miss World 2013 Megan Young and World Champion Boxer Vijender Singh.

Wahiba Arres crowned Miss Tunisie 2014

20 year old Wahiba Arres was crowned Miss Tunisie 2014 at the Palais des Congrès in Tunis last April 5.

Wahiba will represent Tunisia in Miss World 2014 later this year.

Intisar Kharraz, Khouloud Fatnassi, Emna Edhib and Mariem Mbarek completed the top five finalists.

Megan Young launched in a Collectible Stamps

Recently, the reigning Miss World 2013 Megan Young was all smiles as she attended the official launch of her limited edition collectible stamps, immortalized alongside many other greats in the world of philately.

Released about a month ago by The Philippine Postal Corporation, Megan is back in her country where earlier today she was presented with a framed set of the stamps for the official launch of the collectable items.

The stamps come in two varieties, a P30 edition showing a head-shot of Megan, and a P40 version seated on the throne, both from pictures taken at the Miss World Final, moments after Megan was crowned Miss World 2013.

Megan joins several other Miss World’s who have also been given the honor of their own collectable stamp, including most recently Miss World 2001 Agbani Darego and Miss World 2009 Kaiane Aldorino.

Five Queens was crowned Bb. Pilipinas 2014

Five winners and two runner-ups were declared during the annual Bb. Pilipinas competition held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Manila on March 30th.

25 year old Mary Jean Lastimosa was finally crowned Binibining Pilipinas-Universe 2014 after her third attempt.

MJ from South Cotabato will represent the Philippines in the 2014 Miss Universe pageant later this year.

Mary Anne Bianca Guidotti was crowned Bb. Pilipinas-International, and will compete in the 2014 Miss International beauty pageant to be held in Tokyo (Japan) later this year;

Yvethe Marie Santiago from Bicol won the title of Bb. Pilipinas-Supranational, and will travel to the Miss Supranational 2014 competition to take place in October;

Cebu's pride, Kris Tiffany Janson was awarded Bb. Pilipinas-Intercontinental and will compete for the Miss Intercontinental crown in Germany this winter;

Filipino-Indian Parul Shah was elected Bb. Pilipinas-Tourism. She will compete in the Miss Tourism Queen International competition in China if held this year.

Laura Lehmann and Hannah Sison were the 1st and 2nd runners-up, respectively.

Completing the Top 15 semi-finalists were Julian Flores, Joanna Romero, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, Nichole Manalo, Zahara Soriano, Emma Tiglao, Kenneth Santiago and Mae Liezel Ramos.

The 51st edition of Binibining Pilipinas was graced by the presence of reigning Miss Universe Gabriela Isler, reigning Miss International Bea Santiago, and reigning Miss Supranational Mutya Johanna Datul.

21 year old Rolene Strauss from Bloemfontein was crowned Miss South Africa 2014 at the Superbowl in Sun City on March 30.

Standing 1.78m tall, Rolene will represent South Africa in Miss Universe 2014 pageant later this year.

Ziphozakhe Zokufa was the first runner-up and Matlala Mokoko was the second runner-up.
