Candidates of Pantaloons Femina Miss India 2012

The 49th annual Pantaloons Femina Miss India 2012 will take place this year on March 30 where twenty stunning delegates will compete for the coveted crown.

The reigning queens (photo above): Kanishtha Dhankhar (Femina Miss India World 2011), Hasleen Kaur (Femina Miss India Earth 2011) and Ankita Shorey (Femina Miss India International 2011) will crown their successor at the end of the pageant.

New winners will represent India in Miss World 2012 to be held in Ordos Inner Mongolia in China on August 18, Miss International 2012 and in Miss Earth 2012 competitions.

Courtenay Bernard wins Mister New Zealand 2012

Mister New Zealand 2012 male pageant was held in Auckland where the handsome Courtenay Bernard was declared the over all winner.

5 gorgeous men competed for the title. The 1st run-up place went to Kristian Bray while the 2nd run-up was Rex Braganza.

Courtenay Bernard will compete in the next edition of Mister World contest.

Leila Lopes & other Miss Universe Beauties visits Dusseldorf, Germany

The reigning Miss Universe 2011, Leila Lopes from Angola, together with other Miss Universe past contestants namely: Andriani Karantoni from Cyprus, Chloe-Beth Morgan from Great Britain and Nadine Alexandra Ames from Indonesia are currently visiting Dusseldorf, Germany for the Beauty International trade show taking place at the Dusseldorf Exhibition Centre.

The beauty queens took part in a make-up demonstration held on last March 9 at the meeting point in Hall 10; explaining how beauty queens are prepared for competition. The make-up team is the Kryolan team, Official Cosmetics Sponsors of Miss Universe 2011 beauty pageant.

Also present at the event was the famous Britain and Ireland Fashion Designer, Joey Bevan.

Aishwarya Rai ranked 2nd in Most Popular Brand Ambassador in the World

Former Miss World of 1994, Aishwarya Rai from India ranked 2nd at the Top 20 Most Popular Brand Ambassadors Worldwide list which was reported last March 8. The recent survey was done by an international marketing research company for luxury watches.

The popular American professional golfer, Tiger Woods leading the top of the list with 16.2% votes followed by the Bollywood Indian Actress who received garnered 9% over all votes.

Leila Lopes as a guest in America’s Beauty Show in Chicago

The current Miss Universe 2011 from Angola, Leila Lopes attended as a special guest at the America’s Beauty Show program in ABS last March 4. The beauty queen serves as a model of the Farouk Systems stand, makers of CHI and BioSilk, sponsors of the Miss Universe competition.

Giuliana Rancic & Andy Cohen will host Miss USA 2012 in Las Vegas

Actress, Giuliana Rancic‘s recent breast cancer battle certainly hasn’t slowed her down. She co-anchors E! News and Fashion Police, stars on the Style Network’s Giuliana & Bill, and she’s picking up a major primetime gig: Miss USA 2012 host.

Bravo’s “Watch What Happens: Live”, Andy Cohen will join Giuliana onstage for the second year in a row hosting the pageant.

“Psyched to host Miss USA again with my friend @giulianarancic,” he tweeted. “See u in Vegas in June, lady!”

Paula M. Shugart, president of the Miss Universe Organization, said in a statement: “Andy and Giuliana’s charisma and energy are a great fit for us, and it was obvious they had a lot of fun together at Miss USA last year. We are happy to have them back.”

Andy Cohen is the host and executive producer of “Watch What Happens: Live (WWHL),” Bravo’s late night, interactive talk show now airing five nights a week and features guests from some of Bravo’s most popular series, as well as from the world of entertainment, politics and pop culture. For last year’s 2011 Miss USA competition, WWHL aired live immediately after the telecast making it the first time the show shot outside a studio. When Cohen doesn’t have hosting duties, he is also the executive vice president of original programming and development for Bravo where he oversees the development and production of more than two dozen shows such as “Top Chef,” and “The Real Housewives.”

Giuliana Rancic is a co-anchor of “E! News” and host of E!’s hugely popular “Fashion Police.” She is also the executive producer/star of her hit Style Network reality show, “Giuliana & Bill.” Rancic can also be seen co-hosting red carpet events such as the Golden Globes and The Oscars.


Meanwhile, NBC, Donald J. Trump and Paula M. Shugart, president of the Miss Universe Organization, announced today that the “2012 MISS USA® Competition” will air LIVE on NBC Sunday, June 3 (9 p.m. ET) from Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas at the Theatre for the Performing Arts.

“The city of Las Vegas, one of the most exciting cities in the world, will once again set the stage for the Miss USA competition, giving 51 of the most beautiful women in the country a chance to win the coveted title of Miss USA,” said Trump. “Planet Hollywood has consistently rolled out the red carpet for our contestants and it is a natural for us to host the pageant there.”

“The MISS USA® Pageant and Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino are the perfect pairing. This is one of the most exhilarating events of the year, being held at the most exciting resort on the Las Vegas Strip,” said David Hoenemeyer, regional president of Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. “We are proud to partner with the MISS USA® Pageant for the fifth year in a row to host this spectacular event.”

Last year, the 2011 MISS USA® Competition on NBC was the #1 show of the night for all key demographics. The 2012 MISS USA® Competition will feature contestants from all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Contestants will be judged in three categories: swimsuit, evening gown and interview. The show concludes with one contestant ultimately being crowned Miss USA 2012.

Adds Shugart: “Not only will we have the hottest show on the strip the night of June 3, but we are excited to welcome back Andy Cohen and Giuliana Rancic as hosts. Andy and Giuliana’s charisma and energy are a great fit for us, and it was obvious they had a lot of fun together at Miss USA last year. We are happy to have them back.”

Returning as executive producers of the telecast are dick clark productions (dcp) led by Barry Adelman. Last year marked the first time the telecast incorporated a fan vote revealing the 16th contestant, along with a new technology enabling viewers to play “virtual judges” from their home.

The program concluded with Alyssa Campanella, Miss California, being crowned Miss USA 2011. During her reign, she represented the USA in the 2011 Miss Universe® Competition held in Sao Paulo, Brazil placing in the Top 16. She has been active raising awareness for breast and ovarian cancer as well helping promote the USO Wishbook in support of our troops. Valeria Voronova was crowned Queen of Crimea 2012

20 year old Valeria Voronova from Sevastopol won the title and the crown of Miss Earth Crimea 2012. She will be the official representative of Crimea in Miss Earth 2012 beauty pageant.

Valeria Voronova is a student of Sevastopol National University of Nuclear Energy and Industry.

Delegates of Miss Seychelles 2012 participates in Eco-Friendly Marathon

As the starter gun went off at the Beau Vallon Regatta site, the finalists of the “Miss Seychelles…. another world” candidates were ready to take on the challenge of the fourth edition of the Seychelles Eco-Friendly Marathon. All present for this international event organized by the Seychelles Tourism Board, the contestants who had enrolled for the ten-kilometers walking category, joined the more than 600 local and international participants to promote Seychelles as a sport tourism destination.

One of the delegates, Stephanie Ernesta, has acknowledged that ”it’s the first time she had the chance to be part of such a prestigious event.” She added that although she prefers swimming over any other sport, she had a thrilled time walking the ten kilometers from the Beau Vallon Regatta Site to Bel ombre, all the way up to Hilton Hotel in Glacis and back to the starting point. Janice Hoareau and Diana Marie were mesmerized by the publicity that the “Miss Seychelles… another world” contestants gained when the news spread among the local and international marathons of their presence in the Eco-Friendly Marathon, outlining that the Eco-Friendly Marathon is a better way to showcase Seychelles’ beauty.

For the “Miss Seychelles… another world” contestants, the marathon was not solely a means to see the beauty of the island through sport, but one in which they were able to meet with high government officials who are fans of the Eco-Friendly Marathon in a series of photo shoots. From the Designated Minister, Vincent Meriton; to the Minister responsible for culture, Bernard Shamlaye; the minister responsible for investment, Peter Sinon; and the Chairman of the Seychelles Tourism Board, Barry Faure; they all responded positively to the call of meeting the “Miss Seychelles… another world” contestants and being part of the family photos.

The Eco-Friendly Marathon showcases the “Miss Seychelles… another world” contestants’ first involvement in the Seychelles Tourism Board calendar of events. Upon their selection for the finals on the January 21, 2012 event, the twelve contestants have started a series of training programs to prepare them for the Grand Finals on May 26, 2012. With the help of the Seychelles Tourism Board and close collaborators of the pageant, the twelve girls have so far undergone professional photo shoot sessions in the botanical gardens, choreographic and phone etiquette training, as well as public speaking sessions to state just a few. The contestants have pointed out that they are going through a real adventure with all that will be required of them as future “Miss Seychelles… another world” contestants. Speaking about their training session experiences, one of the girls said that it’s been “quite demanding, but the benefits reaped from them cannot be overestimated.”

As the “Miss Seychelles… another world” contestants enter into the sixth week of their training sessions, the momentum is ultimately building up for the finals, while the team spirit, which has been created among the girls, is stronger than ever.
