Miss Germany Earth 2010 is Anne Julia Hagen

In a beauty contest held in Europa Park in Rust, Anne Julia Hagen won the title of Miss Germany 2010. 1st runner-up was Albana Nocaj from Baden-Wurttemberg and the 2nd runner-up was Reingard Hagemann of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

Anne Julia Hagen will represent Germany at the Miss Earth 2010 beauty pageant later this year.

Miss Dominica 2010 beauty pageant was held on February 12 at Festival City in Pottersville Savannah. Marcia Baptiste, a 24 year old beauty from Portsmouth won the coveted crown. It wasn't confirmed yet if she will represent the country internationally.

Vietnam withdraws as the host of Miss World 2010

After the Miss World flag was handled to Vietnam during the Miss World 2009 finals in South Africa, the province of Khanh Hoa and the city of Nha Trang, Vietnam withdrew from hosting the Miss World 2010 beauty pageant. Earlier in January, US-based RAAS group, license holders of Miss World in Nha Trang, Vietnam retired their sponsorship for the pageant after a long dispute of which city, Nha Trang or My Tho, would host the final event. The government of Khanh Hoa could not secure the $10 million US dollars needed to stage the event and rather will focus on hosting a much lesser known international pageant. There is no news on where Miss World 2010 contest will be celebrated as of today.

Miss World Pageant 2009

Miss World is an annual international beauty pageant created by Eric Morley in 1951. It was the oldest major beauty contest which is among the 4 largest and grandest pageants in the world. When Eric Morley passed away in 2000, his wife Julia Morley, co-chairs and organized the pageant. In 2003, the "Fast Track Competitions" are launched. The winners of these events automatically advanced into the semi-finals, along with the candidates chosen by the judges. Miss World's main theme was "Beauty with a Purpose", which aims in helping and raising funds for children's charities. The delegates are judged according to beauty, intelligence, personality and charisma. The winner in the early age lives in London (the birthplace of Miss World) during her reign. Miss World 2009, Kaiane Aldorino was introduced to His Royal Highness the Crown Prince of Brunei, Al-Muhtadee Billah, the heir to the Sultan of Brunei. She was a special guest at a dinner event during the ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) 2010.

During the day Kaiane wore a traditional Vietnamese Ao Dai dress as she promoted next year’s Miss World final at the tourism stand for Vietnam.

“I have never worn an Ao Dai dress before, they are very elegant.” Talking about her time in Brunei she said, “being here at ATF has been great, Asia has so much to offer and I can’t wait to visit more countries on the continent. Miss World 2010 in Vietnam is going to be spectacular”.

Samantha Tshuma, a 21 year old beauty from Bulawayo was crowned Miss Tourism Zimbabwe 2010 at a beauty pageant held at the Harare Convention Center. She will represent Zimbabwe in Miss World 2010 contest. First runner-up is Chido Mashaya and second runner-up is Tafadzwa Muchemanyi.
