Contestants of Miss Great Britain Universe 2009

Miss GB (Great Britain) Universe 2009 (also known as UK, United Kingdom) Beauty Pageant will be held on May 3 at Birmingham. There are 40 delegates from England, Scotland and Wales are chosen to compete in the finals. Lisa Lasarus, the reigning Miss Universe GB 2008 will crown her successor. The winner will be competing at the Miss Universe 2009 Contest later this year where almost 80 of the most beautiful women all over the world will compete in the annual event.

Miss Uruguay Universe 2009 (Miss Uruguay Universo) Beauty Pageant will be held on February 28. There are 15 lovely candidates who will compete for the crown. Paula Diaz Gallione, the reigning Miss Uruguay Universe 2008 will crown her successor. The winner will be sent to compete at the Miss Universe 2009 Contest.

*** Nadia Theodoluz won Miss Uruguay Universe 2004 but couldn´t compete in Miss Universe 2004 as she was 5 days too young. Therefore her 1st run-up Nicole Dupont was sent to compete.

Miss Universe Pageant 2008

The Miss Universe Pageant is perhaps the most celebrated beauty pageant of all times. It was highly acclaimed to be one of the 4 largest beauty contests in the world.

The pageant was founded by California clothing company Pacific Mills in 1952. It was first co-owned and organized by Kayser-Roth and then Gulf and Western Industries, then in 1996, it was bought by business tycoon, Donald Trump. In 1998, from the name Miss Universe Inc. it was changed to Miss Universe Organization as well as it's headquarters being moved from Long Beach California, to New York City.

The pageant's main slogan was "Redefined for Today". They are looking for the delegates who possess intelligence, well-mannered, cultured as well as modernized women. The winner, since it was managed by Trump is signed a one-year contract with the Organization, traveling nationwide and abroad promoting the public awareness of HIV/AIDS, control of diseases and world peace.

According to pageant experts, the Miss Universe is the only pageant which is going with the flow of our present age and time. They are looking nowadays for beautiful, model-like and has a good runway skill winners.

Carlos Alberto to sponsor Miss Universe and Miss USA 2009 Pageants

The Miss Universe Organization announced today that Carlos Alberto Haute Couture is the official sponsor for the Miss USA and Miss Universe beauty pageants in 2009 which will broadcast live on the NBC Universal television network.

Carlos Alberto is one of the most acclaimed fashion designers in Puerto Rico. Alberto is known for his high quality fashions that takes into consideration each individual as he designs for their unique personality and style. His various fashion shows in Puerto Rico have distinguished him as the top haute couture fashion designer in the region. The designer's numerous accomplishments have prompted him to create the new and innovative Carlos Alberto Haute Couture atelier. Throughout his illustrious career, Alberto has been chosen to design fashions for winners of the Miss Puerto Rico, Miss USA and Miss Universe competitions, including dresses for winners Zuleyka Rivera when she was crowned Miss Universe 2006 and Crystle Stewart when she was crowned Miss USA 2008.
